rank went beyond the Flotilla, criticizing Israel's treatment of Arabs and the settlements in the West Bank, both of which "as a Jew," make him "ashamed." No surprise here, really. Many Jews in America seem to be ashamed to be Jewish, and they certainly seem to be ashamed of Israel. It's one of the great mysteries of my lifetime. Outside of Israel, Jews savage those inside Israel. See a video below.

Massive violent attacks against Jews date back at least to the Crusades such as the Pogrom of 1096 in France and Germany (the first to be officially recorded), as well as the massacres of Jews at London and York in 1189–1190.
In 1348, because of the hysteria surrounding the Black Plague, Jews were massacred in Chillon, Basle, Stuttgart, Ulm, Speyer, Dresden, Strasbourg, and Mainz. By 1351, 60 major and 150 smaller Jewish communities had been destroyed[12]. A large number of the surviving Jews fled to Poland, which was very welcoming to Jews at the time[13].
In 1543, Martin Luther wrote On the Jews and Their Lies, a treatise in which he advocated harsh persecution of the Jewish people, up to what are now called pogroms. He advocated that their synagogues and schools be set on fire, their prayer books destroyed, rabbis forbidden to preach, homes razed, and property and money confiscated[14][15].
Jews and Poles were massacred during the Khmelnytsky Uprising of Ukrainian Cossacks in 1648–1654[16], and during the Koliyivshchyna in 1768-1769.
Chmielnicki was one of the biggest anti-Semites in human history, on par with Hitler. His aim was genocide and his forces murdered an estimated 100,000 Jews in the most horrendous ways:

The greatest number of pogroms were registered in the Chernigov gubernia in northern Ukraine. The pogroms there in October 1905 took 800 Jewish lives, the material damages estimated at 70,000,000 rubles. 400 were killed in Odessa, over 150 in Rostov-on-Don, 67 in Yekaterinoslav, 54 in Minsk, 30 in Simferopol—- over 40, in Orsha — over 30.

Where does this historical victomology nonsense stop??? During the same periods many peoples in the same areas suffered the same or worse by many hands. Jews have no corner on the market.
Additionally, Christianity wasn't even the primary religion for most Europeans in 1000 AD. Indeed, the entire Enlightenment had to do with the cultural acceptance of Christianity as a guiding principle. Paganism didn't truly disappear until the 1400s.
In modern times irreligious Fascists and Communists conducted the worst assaults on Jews, yet the American Jewish voting record doesn't indicate any lingering animosity.
People will always be capable of the worst, but there is nothing in the New Testament that calls for mistreating any person. If a sheriff commits a crime, I blame the sheriff, not the concept of law.

I was unaware that "Christian Europe" turned a blind eye to a takeover of a "Jewish" Czechoslovakia and Poland. Your willingness to blame Christians for what is a human weakness is the exact same thing that was done in blaming Jews for the cruxifiction of Jesus.

Unlike Islam, there is NOTHING in Christianity that teaches hatred against Jews. If Jews were to wish anything of peoples of predominantly Christian beliefs, perhaps it should be that they be more devout in their beliefs.
I wouldnt say animosity so much as distrust. Yes, the Nazi's were secular pagan but operating by the vote of the people of Germany, both Protestant and Catholic.

The Jewish people have had a good go of it here in the USA. But the Jewish people have a long collective memory about the nature of living in exile. Germany was an enlightened and cultured State. The Jews felt comfortable there and were heavily assimilated. Not unmlike the USA today.
Do the Jews here play the victim card too much? Yeah, I think so too. Is there a reason? Heck yeah. Should the Jews "move on"? Yes! We dont need another holocaust museum. But the world needs to know that we wont forget.
American (evangelical)Christians are the Jews best friend. The Catholic church in the usa? Not so much. The World Council of Churches? No (including Presbyterian Church USA, Lutheran ELCA, Episcopal Church, United Methodist Church etc? No way. They actively support antiJewish activities and are largely silent in the face of a nuclear buildup by Iran. Silent in the ballistic missile build-up by Syria and Hizbullah. Silent over the 10,000 rockets fired by Hamas into Israeli cities.
Will evangelicals stand with Israel-Jews? I think so. The other groups no. And as we have seen, it is the liberal christians (and liberal american reform Jews) who have voted in this monster Hussein. Could it get worse for the Jews in the USA? I think so...most definitely.
I think you may be misunderstanding my tone. I am not pissed or anything, just trying to be matter-of fact. Sorry if that has come off as accusitorial...not the idea at all. You rightly claim lots of other people were evil. It is just that the original point was about Christians. So, the Jewish Christian history is what causes Jewish mistrust (and in some cases, out and out animosity).

Maybe not directly but indirectly. The book of John and the writings of Paul are hard on the Jews and Jews have been slaughtered for 2000'years for being Christ killers. Mild compared to Islam, that is for sure.

John the Jew? The early Christians were mainly Jews. All of the disciples were Jewish.
Exactly what anti-Jewish comments are made in John and Paul that you find so alarming? There are statements criticizing the spiritual ills of ancient Israel, but they pale beside the same type of statements made by Jewish prophets in the Old Testament. There is a world of difference between stating that a peoples' institution is corrupt and stating that a people should be slaughtered. In 45 years, I've never heard or read an ill word about Jews in a Christian service.
The pogroms against Jews during the Dark and Middle Ages were strikingly similar to the pogroms against other people that the warlords were overly indebted to in one form or another. As money lenders, Jews were often the direct target of powerful borrowers who could not pay. Rent a mobs are not a new creation you know. If you really think about it you would understand that these thugs were doing harm to both Jews and Christianity. Most of the "Christian princes" of the day were political converts who kept their pagan values.
"Christ killers" rings about as true as "Jew Haters" and vice versa. Every Easter, I am reminded of my faults by seeing my weaknesses in every character (except Jesus) of the cruxifiction story. Those were not the sins and failings unique to Jews, but rather common to all men. The same goes for Christians.
The point of my original post was that American secular Jews are alarmingly anti-Israel and anti-Christian. The American Constitution is perhaps the closest codification of Christian thought ever devised, giving American Jews a level of religious tolerance greater than ever found anywhere at anytime. I don't get the hostility.
You're asking the wrong questions. I'm Catholic and far more pro-Israel than a lot of Jews appear to be. Our religion guides us, but most fail to pick the harder path (be they Jews or Christians). Interestingly, the groups you mention as anti-Israel are also all too often on the wrong side of many human rights issues, preferring socialism with the promise of riches, over individual liberty. That, not anti-semitism, is the culprit at work.
Islam is an entirely different animal, as it has a clearly hostile message against all non-muslims.
