You raise good points. If we can’t win electorally, then we’re hosed no matter what we do.
Going along those lines, if we can win an election, then we can’t get to the point of impeaching him anyway.
We’ve been in a war of ideas for 100 years. Obama is little more than the current standard bearer for those ideas. Do we attack the failed ideas, or the man? We can remove the man from power, and the ideas will remain. If we win the battle of ideas, and we can, both the ideas and the man are defeated.
Yes. Any enduring political body needs an edifice of ideas that is more important than the physical edifice. A system of thought needs to be consistent. Consistency applied to a human being is called integrity. If the edifice of public policy, i.e. its philosophy, is not consistent, it can’t endure, and the body politic will not endure.
