Marvel Comics is begging for a boycott.

Keep this in mind when Marvel's 'Captain America' feature hits the screens next year...or if you prefer; there is an 'Iron Man' movie you can avoid in just a few months...

Back in the 90s, a comic would be on the cancellation block for sales below 100,000 copies. Today, if one hits 100,000 copies it ranks at the top of the direct market sales chart! Could it be the dark, depressing, overly sexualized and often twisted 'world' they have devolved to, especially at Marvel?

True story:

Last night at the dinner table, we were entertaining a California relative who was passing through on his way back from the Superbowl game.

The topic of the Tea Party came up and he remarked, “Yeah, those are a bunch of crazy people.” He did not know I and my 11-year-old daughter are very active Tea Party members.

I then politely asked, “Which part is crazy about them? Is it their call for a smaller Federal Government, less intrusion in the free market system, or their call for fiscal responsibility with the Federal budget?”

Before he answered, I added, “Oh, how's things going out in California with your State budget?”

He grumbled, and the topic changed to next year's New Orleans Saint's player lineup ... Being a kind host, I let his Tea Party comment slide.

The vast majority of the people who malign the Tea Party have NO idea who they are or what they really stand for ...

... and that they are about as "middle America" as you can get.

Yes, the Skull came back again and again over the years. I think by the 80s he had started to adapt his methods to the times, but his goal was always fascism. Today's Red Skull would be the shadowy mastermind behind organizations like ACORN and SEIU!

Looks like it's working...their sales figures rarely top 100,000 in a nation of 300,000,000.

And they follow Liberal Economics, too...as their sales drop, they raise the price on their product.
