In all the writing Obama has done, he just writes about his male friends.

There is only one reference in Dreams to a woman -- Obama disapproved of what he called other “half-breeds” who gravitated toward whites instead of blacks. And yet after college, he once fell in love with a white woman, only to push her away when he concluded he would have to assimilate into her world, not the other way around. He later married a black woman. -- I happen to think this was a device to make a racial point rather than a true anecdote. I just don't see Obama dating a white woman while he was organizing in Harlem.

I would be interested to know if Obama attended his junior or senior proms at Punahou.
