Obama made no secret of it.

This is proof that people are idiots.

Have we all lost our minds? We are going to allow this? Looks like our politicians are all going to vote for it. This is the biggest hoax in the history of mankind!

I can’t afford an extra two grand a year in energy costs. He truly is out of touch with reality; -then he complains about being depicted as an elitist.

“It still stuns me that anybody voted for this guy.”

John McCain was for the same cap and trade policy. There was not one bit of difference.

Let me save the bandwith. Even though Obama is establishing this tax on energy, the hardship it causes will be George Bush’s fault. Because George Bush was President before Obama and handed the Dear Leader this “mess” and any and all susequent “messes.”

There, doesn’t that make you feel all hopey and changey?

And does this include the little gem of the issue of the Meter Box thingy?

The (R)s should be hammering the heck out of this. Every time they get in front of a camera, they should remind America that Bambi’s initiatives are bleeding them dry.

...Oh wait, sorry, I forgot. Most all of the repukes buy into this “crap and trade” nonsense too.

This can't be.

He promised that no one making under $250K per year would see their taxes increase a single dime. Not one single dime.

I mean $200K.

I mean $150K.

Well, he did say not a single dime. And $1800 is not, in fact, a single dime.

Apparently he went to the same School of Rhetorical Manipulation as Bill Clinton, who provided the ChiComs with missile-guidance technology.

Please tell me this isn't going to happen.

The poor already get energy assistance in the winter. My son put in a new furnace for me, and it isn't as warm as my old one but does keep my winter fuel down. I use the central air only on the very worst days in the summer to keep costs down. I use my commercial fans whenever possible.

With people laid off and driving business prices higher, there are so many that just aren't going to be able to afford it. It will drive costs of everything up, not just energy. People, especially the elderly, will be dying of hypothermia and heat exhaustion.

This will affect most of the country, both parties, all but the rich and the very few places where the temps are moderate all year around (can't think of any except some of the Caribbean islands and some countries near Panama, can't think of any place in the US). In the north you need heat and midwest cooling in the summer. In the south and CA you need some heat, and in the deep south and SW (Gulf coast and Arizona), you cannot survive the heat w/o air conditioning.

Didn't I read he keeps the WH thermostat set so high you could grow orchids because he gets cold? I don't see how he can possibly do this to us.

All the newer housing is designed with very poor ventilation except for people with lots of windows. Even McMansions aren't that great w/ventilation because the've relied on ac for years. It would be hell in the big cities in apartment complexes because they aren't ventilated like old homes once were.

I thought only those making over $250K would see an increase in their taxes?

That is absolute BS. While I this McCain was crazy for buying into any of the GW crap it was not the same and to say it was is absolute BS.
