According to this video, Americans abroad fish for large game fish by using live kittens and cats with a hook through them. The video is grim. Can anyone confirm the video is not a hoax? Thanks.
Anti-Fishing people regularly put up such hoaxes.
Do you really need us to tell you it’s a hoax? Kittens? Why would a fish be more attracted to kittens than the fish they usually eat?
The video plays like a joke or hoax, but who knows? I wouldn’t put it past some people. I hate when things like this get made though because it gives cruel people ideas.
What? Worms don’t feel any pain?
Horse meat is delicious, by the way.
What else do catfish eat?

There are about 13 cats that are not fixed that run in my neighborhood. My neighbors let them out on a regular basis. As such there is a decent feral population as well. I would gladly donate these cats to the fishermen. Where do I send them. As a matter of fact they can have my neighbors too.
I don’t even want to look at this video, but keep in mind that other cultures consume dogs and cats on a routine basis. These same cultures think nothing of often killing female babies.
Their regard for life is not the same, but hey, can’t we all just get along; we are all the same. SARC
They must have been some confusion with the new PETA directive - Fish are now to be called Sea-Kittens.
It makes sence to me... I mean if they work as bait, why not use them as bait? It’s not like they’re killing a person.
The video brought tears to my eyes to think people can actually be so cruel. That poor little kitten. I support punishment for animal cruelty too. According to Snopes, there have been cases with dogs:

Did you see the video? Just because they work as bait, it doesn’t mean they should be used as bait. There are laws against animal cruelty, and doing this would certainly fall under those laws.
Sacred cows make the best hamburger.
Good one.
You understand these animals feel fear and severe pain just like a human would, right?
