Aren't you painting with a broad brush? To assume that these Anglo-phobes and America-haters represent even a significant minority of Hispanic immigrants here is akin to believing that every American listens intently to Air America or posts to Democratic Underground.
"To assume that these Anglo-phobes and America-haters represent even a significant minority of Hispanic immigrants "
All we have to do is look at the demonstrations and count the number of mexican flags versus the number of US flags.
When I look around denver I see very few American flag stickers on the backs of Hispanic cars, but I see tons of Mexican flags.
It isn't a broad brush at all.
Please get your head out of the sand. Wake up, you are dangerously delusional. Your denial is now a threat to the sovereignty of our republic.
Read about how a pro-communist, ultra radical "MEChista" named Tony Villar cut his hair, changed his name, put on a tie, and became the mayor of America's second largest city.
The mayor of LA founded the UCLA chapter of MEChA, and is still a proud member. The stated goal of MEChA is the establishment of a socialist utopia called "Aztlan," to be created on the present Southwest of the USA. This is NOT a joke. THere are MEChA chapters in every college and most high schools in the Southwest. They are DAMN serious about this. Older "MEChista" (like the current mayor of LA) are now judges and representatives and other persons in positions of power and influence in the region.
Note that the official symbol of MEChA is an eagle holding a bloody Aztec head chopper, and a lit dynamite bomb, ready to drop.
Yeah...sure..whatever...
How many radio stations were promoting this?...accross America and how many of those in favor showed up?...perhaps a million in LA alone?...
Flush out your headgear new guy
No one said "...'Every Hispanic'..." read the signs...
It is somewhat of a broad brush, but you can see by the size and scope of the countrywide rallies just how easy it is to get a mob together and get them stirred up and angry. Add high school kids into the mix and it's a recipe for disaster.
The illegal aliens are not well educated and it is easy to feed into their fears and ignorance. A majority only get their news from Spanish-language radio and from what their kids hear at school. Throw the gang members into this mix and it'll get beyond being a nasty situation.
There are some native born Americans of hispanic descent who believe in Atzlan, and hate America.
Travis is talking about the protestors. Look at the pictures. They tell the story. The good Hispanics that you're talking about didn't show up. But the Arab supporters of these illegal immigrant protestors did. Have you seen that picture?
Did you miss the organized demonstrations all over the country? Did you happen to notice how many turned out? Did you miss the Mexican flags? Did you miss the upside down, burned, and walked on US Flags? Did you miss all the Mexica, Atzlan, and Reconquista signs?
Now let me ask the really tough question- did you see or hear of even one protestor saying they disagreed with all of the above that was going on?
I have contact with many, many Mexicans (Mexican citizens) and many US Citizens that are 1st generation children of illegals (anchor children) these people do indeed believe these things, they are every bit as radical as they seem. If you are ever in a place where they feel free to talk about such things, you will hear them say things that will curl your hair. They resent the United States, they do not appreciate anything that is done for them here, they only demand more. They truly believe the Southwest belongs to them, and plan to take it back.
The older Mexicans (Mexican citizens) and older US Citizens that are children of illegals are much more pro-American, and are not radical. The problem is most of the illegals are of working and school age, and they are the radical ones. I have lived on the border most of my life and I can assure you the illegal of today is nothing like the illegal of even a few years ago.
