Andrew Sullivan would it have hurt to what til the man was buried?

Has anyone else noticed the utter infatuation that Andrew Sullivan has had with Pope John Paul II since his death? Why not let them bury the man and then begin your full scale wholesale assault on the damage you feel that he has done?

The guy withstood the depression, the nazi's, Marxism, an assasins bullet, he supported the polish solidarity movement that helped to crush communism and he co-operated with Reagan and the CIA in the supply of clandestine materials with priests and bishops, who were immune from body searches, acting as couriers in communist countries.......

I didn't even notice that Andrew Sullivan was still alive.

"he supported the polish solidarity movement that helped to crush communism and he co-operated with Reagan and the CIA in the supply of clandestine materials with priests and bishops, who were immune from body searches, acting as couriers in communist countries......."

These are the reasons that the leftist media wants to vilify him. We see all of these as positives, they see them as negatives.

I used to read Andrew Sullivan quite a bit; in fact, many times it was the first place I went, when going on the internet.

But then he went w-a-y overboard about this gay-marriage issue, as if that is the only "issue" that confronts the whole entire big wide world.

It is one thing to be "passionate" about an issue, a cause--I have my own, after all--and quite another thing to "overdo" the vigor and intensity of publicizing that passion, that issue, that cause.

And so when this gay-marriage issue, about which Andrew Sullivan obviously is passionate, started permeating all the other issues and arguments and controversies--somehow, he managed to tie it in with just about any issue--I figured okay, that's his deal, and he concentrates too much on it, so I might as well read someone else.....
