Their are pretenders...We are it...look no further. Sit, watch, listen, learn, contribute. Go slow...
There are similar sites geared towards other nation's poltics, like FreeDominion.ca for Canadian politics. There are some attempts to create liberal versions of FR, like democraticunderground.com.
Be carefull going to DU though. They are way off the deep end of anti-war, anti-bush, radical everythingism and they will ban you at the drop of a hat for saying anything remotely to the right of Ted Kenedy. Most of us avoid it, or use it for comic relief.
Free republic has done more to defend freedom than any other institution within the last 4 years. Welcome.
You might want to avoid walking into a Lamborghini dealer, and asking the first sales rep you see: "Where can I test drive a new Geo Metro?"
I don't believe there are any other sites quite like FreeRepublic.
There are other conservative news forums.

For Canadians, there's Free Dominion, a sister site of sorts to this one, but their site is slow compared to FR.
