I agree that the pain isn't remembered but that doesn't change the fact that it is painful. I would hate to think that my son remembers me leaning over him, pinning his little shoulders and legs to the kitchen table while someone inflicted such pain on him.

Either your son remembers the pain or not. The fact is he WON'T if circumcision is performed shortly after birth. If he waits until he is grown up it will be very painful and he will remember. And he won't be too happy with you either.
