That is quite likely a large part of it, as well as the entirety of the Orlando area’s massive employment in lodging, hospitality, and shopping. Nowadays, if gays enjoy a substantial employment base that accommodates and protects them, they seem eager to come out, organize, and make themselves prominent.

As for organizing .. once marriage was obtained, the gay orgs had basically nothing to do, so the tranny stuff became their new moneymakers. People here often see everything as one huge conspiracy, and I’m sure China secretly funds some of this stuff just as we fund stuff in other countries, but I think most of this is just “regular” liberals finding the next cause.
A lot of regular gays disagree with this stuff, just as a lot of city women disagree with trans in bathrooms etc, but only a tiny fraction speak out. The trans movement is literally the Emperor Has No Clothes.
