Back in April 2016, the Wall Street Journal published an interesting article entitled “CERN Is Seeking Secrets of the Universe, or Maybe Opening the Portal of Hell”, regarding the Large Hadron Collider (LHC), a 17-mile subterranean loop beneath the France-Switzerland border near Geneva that smashes particles at nearly the speed of light.
CERN is “The European Organization for Nuclear Research” that operates the world’s largest particle physics lab, and the LHC is an “atom smasher” to generate antimatter which is invisible. However, in 2012 CERN scientists were able to trap antimatter and observed the Higgs boson or “god particle”, which they believe would unlock the secrets of how the universe was created, and support the Big Bang theory of how an invisible, universe-wide field gave mass to all matter right after the Big Bang.

But what was the universe the instant before the “Big Bang”? A universe from nothing is illogical. Perhaps the “God Particle” is simply God. At which point logical analysis breaks down. God is eternal but where did eternity begin if it was and is eternal? I place my bets on God but do not understand it all. When the logic of physics, math, and time can not explain it, I just say God eternal and do not know what eternal of the past is.

Well, there was no “instant before” since time doesn’t exist until after the big bang. But of course, if time doesn’t exist, then nothing can change, so the Big Bang can’t happen. So it’s a self-defeating proposition.
We use to ask the teacher if the universe is expanding, just what is expanding into. They all pretended to answer the question by evincing anger and impatience.
I have read one scientific attempt and it was something about a crab crawling on the shore. It was nonsense.
