Am I the Only One who is sick and tired of "I'd Hit It"?
VANITY | TODAY | SELF

Posted on 04/20/2007 11:50:28 AM PDT by CharlesWayneCT

I've never posted a straight Vanity before.

But I am sick and tired of this good conservative, generally religious site being overrun by people posting "I'd hit it", whenever a picture of a good-looking girl is displayed.

It's demeaning, it's immoral, and I guess I'm just a prude but announcing to the world that you'd like to have sex with a woman based on her picture, like she was some object, hardly seems like the appropriate attitude on a conservative political site.

But rather than post in response to any particular person, I figured I'd just vent here where everybody could see and make fun of me.

So go ahead. I thank you for whatever indulgence you have given me in this rant.

Back to your regularly scheduled oggling and hitting.

Morning, all.

Sigh. Was up at 8, a little early, but decided to check on work e-mail before it piled up too deep. 2-1/2 hours later...

You’re home???

How are you feeling? Is your nosebleed under control?

Oh, no. Still here in CA. The youngest is a late sleeper, so mornings are quiet. And work-related things continue, so I check in before it can pile up too deep.

Nose is okay, no bleeds since Saturday, but I am still taking it easy. It’s still near the margin. Interestingly, my mother has been having the same problem the past few days. Wonder if there’s something else involved.

About to go away for the day...

Had to blow my nose this morning. ALmost no sign of blood. *\;-)

Supposed to be hot & dry here today, in the upper 90s. Sounds like your kind of weather. *\;-)

How are you today??

BTW, submitted my travel request this morning for LV. My boss was pleased at the heads' up I gave him. My co-speaker is not happy, though -- as she points out we're speaking on the same general topic but on two VERY different aspects of it. She'll be talking with the organizers Friday, first opportunity for a call.

That’s good about your nose!
Since my accident, I always sneeze twice. (Is there a book in that thought???) After the packing was gone, I was given something to take every 12 hours. If I didn’t remember to take it, I would sneeze twice.
After two years, I said, that’s it. No more pills. But ohman! It hurt SO BAD to sneeze!
Then reconstructive surgery was done at D-M AFB in Tucson, and it was the first time in 17 years that it didn’t hurt to sneeze!! FREEDOM! It really doesn’t take much to keep me happy!!

We’re at 105, right now, on the way to 113. ;o]

I had a friend that would try to buy a second car the same as the one he was building. A couple times he parted out the extras parts at a profit.

"Horn doesn't work. It was like that when I got the chassis though... "

Put a horn button on the dash. Eventually you'll want to use it.

Just label it "Alarm Disconnect".

I don’t know. I’m getting radical in my old age.

I’ve got a file I call “My Latest Harebrained Scheme”. In it I detail how to build a car, from existing equipment, with better gas mileage and more horsepower.

Is that any way to get rich?

Yes it is, but Give it to Ford, not Obama Motors.

Nothing patentable, except the shop conversion procedure.

The beauty of the program is that it can convert existing cars to hybrid status, and double their mileage. I figure the money to be made is in the conversion process.

I would like to work on redesigning drive-trains, though. A lot of inefficiencies need to be engineered out.

It’s tasteless and classless...so it fits in with a lot of the rhetoric on the internet. Jesus certainly would never claim, “I’d hit it.”

Now wait. Let's establish the parameters. Jesus was a carpenter, right?

So just imagine that on his first attempt to nail Jesus to the cross, the associate executioner misses the spike, painfully impacting Jesus' hand instead.

What would our gentle Jesus say in reproof for this error?

Cost of conversion per unit??

"Cost of conversion per unit??"

Difficult to say. Part of it depends on how much of a conversion is made, and what kind of vehicle (engine) gets converted.

I'd estimate the best case at three to five thousand dollars. If your commute is such that you can really benefit from the efficiencies produced, the payback time would be two to three years.

Type of vehicle, type of commute. Then there's the idea that if the conversion is properly done, you can have efficiency and performance. Kinky!

It is all in the design of the roads. If they were all modeled after those Da Vinci stairs we not only save fuel but be able to generate electricity. I would have posted early but I could not post from my new PDA. I tried from both Opera and IE.

I think you meant "Escher Stairs".
