Good research. She is gifted and she's going to the top. Genuine.

This is the first season I've watched Idol. Now my husband is hooked.

You first season of Idol? Too bad, cause you have missed the best. This year is really weak, except for Melinda, LaKisha, Jordin, and Chris S. Having watched them all, I have to warn you to expect the totally unexpected, like Suckjaya getting through tonight. There have been several girls over the seasons who were phenomenal but got cut anyway. Now the hard work begins for Melinda and LaKisha in relating to the whole audience and showing their chops while the younger ones struggle through unfamiliar genres. They keep saying it's a singing competition, but it's much more than that. As the pressure builds you really see who has the character and the stamina to be up every week. I'm gonna miss Sundance, damnit! I thought he'd last a few more weeks. These pretty boys with breathy voices don't do a thing for me.

The charm of AI is that it really is old-fashioned family entertainment. As I said on an earlier post, it's a latter day version of the Ed Sullivan Show.
