I think the supporters of evolution are smart enough to get their point without a lawsuit.

Maybe, maybe not. This isn't about how smart supporters of evolution are. It's about ignorance, religious fanaticism, and the quality of science education.

Also, to date, voters haven't been smart enough to keep left wing extremists from taking over many powerful institutions. Sometimes the courts are actually useful.

I disagree wholeheartedly with your endorsement of a federal court to make a local decision. It was wrong with bussing, and it is wrong with curriculum decision.
