THis has nothing to do with nazism, leftism, or any other ism... Ya know what this whole fiasco is about? I'll tell.

I'm going to blunt, honest, straightforward with my opinion here, and feel free to spread it around whether you agree with it, or it offends you, but here goes - a lack of family values. Period. Now, I'll tell you what makes me feel that way:

This case is about two sides of a family, arguing over money - As soon as the lawsuit payouts occurred, both the Schindlers and the Schiavo families had a falling out. Lies, falsehoods, smears, disagreements, and a lack of family cohesiveness all occurred because of money. Each side is making claims about the other, and 99% of what people are treating as fact are complete "They said/They said" stuff, without any real documentation.

Screw Michael Schiavo, and screw the Schindlers - because of all of them, a poor woman, whom both sides profess so much love for, has been suffering for 15 f***ing years, because of a family that can't see past the money. All because of a lack of family values, and the sin of Greed.

Now, because of this family fued, which the courts in my opinion tried to deal with to the best of their ability, and within the law - however bad the law may be, and maybe it needs changing - we have had every single branch of government at the state AND federal level involved, when it never should have been. Because of a lack of family values, and the sin of greed.

So screw them all. The only one who should matter is Terri, but instead the poor woman has to suffer while everyone who claims to love her argues over "who's right"...

This has nothing to do with Nazism, and everything to do with a breakdown of family values and morals.

That's my opinion, and if no one else likes it, they can call me all the names they want. I just don't give a s**t anymore. So be it.

See while I understand your line of reasoning, all I am saying is that as a Country, we should start seeing exactly how far we have let the courts go into becoming a monster we may not be able to deal with.

There is no reason, in fact it flies in the face of wisdom that there was no reason to have the courts bring in its own (and thus independent) experts, so that a repsonsible decision could have been made.

Instead we have a Probate court judge with acting dubiously at best, and a Federal Court ignoring the law of the land because it feels like it, while someone lay dying....

There was certainly a breakdown, Chad.

I think Bob Schindler losing his mom had something to do with it as well. Whether it was over money or control, there was a breakdown in a family, and a conflict between two determined people.

But when these types of cases make the news, there almost always is a family breakdown.

And it's sad to see, like a custody fight in a bitter divorce.

Great post, Chad. I'd only add that the supreme reason this case reached the levels it did was because of Randall Terry and some other political parasites who sold the Schindlers a false bill of goods.

I agree wholeheartedly that the root of the problem is the breakdown of family and morals.

However, even the worst family breakdowns do not generally result in members of the family being put to death by order of the government.

It is in the starvation death (method) of a person due to their disability (object) by order of the government (means) because her life was not worth living (reasoning) where I find a close parallel with the T-4 Euthanasia program. I believe that even though the Nazi analogy has been beaten to death in endless other discussions, these four elements form a nexus that compels us to, if it is the truth we seek, make the comparison and ask ourselves where the decisions made in this case will bring us next.
