I was doing some checking on the 'mistress'. Looks like this is doing much better from a post/time perspective.

I am anxiously waiting the triumphant return of our Monkey Face. I hope things are going well with the move.

Y'all folks just natter on amongst yourselves for a bit. I have to get the transportation device ready for our excursion.

You may have noticed that the trapezoidal-shaped tower in front of the main castle gate is a slightly different configuration from the others. It is designed to do double duty. We will use it as a large passenger and cargo carrier.

When I get it all fired up and ready to depart, those of you who want to go to Edinburgh and points East will want to make your way, with appropriate overnight luggage, through the main gate of the castle, over the drawbridge which crosses the moat, and down the little slope to the port in the great basket fence which supports the flying island. We will depart in an hour or so.

Please note that for our extended journey, the makeshift vessel has been equipped with kitchen and dining facilities, bathrooms, and bunks for sleeping. The accommodations are very Spartan, as weight is a premium. There are no hot tubs, libraries, or fireplaces. It is a camping trip.

That's a relative term. I'll be fine but I know of others who define camping as a staying at the beach in a backside unit at a Holiday Inn with only 30 cable channels.

Anyone who needs to be comfortable, and keep the home fires burning, can stay in the castle. We're just going out for supplies.

Steaks, hams, canned veggies, a couple of tons of beer -- the usual things. But we'll see the sights along the way, so it will take a while.

Hi, NnB!

It was the trip from Hell!

I didn't get my checks Monday, my power was shut off Tuesday along with the phone and the water, and I had to stay in a motel until I could get my replacement checks cashed, which wasn't until Wednesday morning.

The truck was loaded that afternoon, and I took off at 0730. I made it all the way into Las Cruces before the sun went down ~~ almost 500 miles. The road I took had very little traffic.

I spent the night in a rest stop with no "facilities" and the temp dropped to 23 degrees. Hobbes and I were VERY cold!

I left before it was completely light, but got to Tucson just about noon. The truck was unloaded, Hobbes was put into the kennel (poor baby -- she is traumatized!) and my brother and I made the trip to Mesa. I was a tired baby!

So I am here.

I will be back in a few minutes, but he wants me to come and have breakfast with him and his wife.

I will answer queries in a moment. I have missed ALL of you!!!!
