No. These are definately different than just popping something on the board. One of the guys I work with hooked a power supply up wrong once and it shot blue flames out of the fan hole. We'll give him crap about it. ;-)

It takes a rather unique set of circumstances to get a board to melt down completely. Most of the BGA (ball grid array) solders don't melt below 270C. Boards typically start to delaminate around 175C.

So yeah, it got a bit toasty in there... One of the reason why we call them "ovens".

I don't have a problem with aggressive affection, Unless it involves taking a piece of my finger off.

Actually out walking my dogs, I have tried to cultivate every dog in the neighborhood.

There is a little terrier of some sort at the end of the block. I don't know if she is just a barker for the joy of it. She seems happy to see me, and lets me pat her but she still barks her lungs out.

She looks like she might weigh 10 lbs soaking wet.

They aren't that heavy. Just awkward. Oh, and I spelled it phonetically... it's apparently "caber". Only weighs about 150lbs. Not too bad considering you are "tossing" it for accuracy more than distance.

As far as I know, I'm the only techie to start a fire at my old workplace. The whole building smelled like an electrical fire, and I got teased about that for a long time. Course, I was also the first person to cook popcorn when they finally got a microwave, and I managed to burn that...

Wondering if we shouldn't add "Firestarter" to your list of titles... ;-)

Actually, come to think of it... I know quite a few guys who would probably have a tought time just lifting the darn thing, much less flipping it end over end...

I may not wanna give up this thing by the end of next week... :-)

When I was a techie, I got to the point where I could carry 90 lb. monitors from room to room. I'd get a scolding every time the secretaries caught me carrying them, though. If I had a nickel for every time they said, "Use a cart!" LOL! But it's been a while, so I can barely move a 50 lb. salt block 3 feet.

I don't know of any free Linux-based FTP programs. I used to use WS_FTP when I had a web site, but I don't know if they have a Linux based program - plus it isn't free anymore.

Just did a quick Fam-fire on KBear. Seems to work pretty good. I'd forgotten what my password was, so I had to hack around a bit. Finally got it... ;-)
