School leaders at the Dayton public school district decided to ban cellphones from all middle and high school campuses and as the school year comes to a close, they’re already seeing improvements in reading, math and social interaction between students. NBC’s Vicky Nguyen reports for TODAY.

Flames from an electric vehicle that caught fire overnight damaged some power lines and scorched a home in the Granada Hills neighborhood of Los Angeles. The fire was reported around 2 a.m. on Rinaldi Street near Haskell Avenue. Firefighters found flames engulfing a Mercedez-Benz, which proved to be difficult to put out. An Indonesian groom discovered his new wife is actually a man who tricked him into marrying in a wild scam for money. The 26-year-old husband identified in local news reports only as AK wed his girlfriend of more than a year in April only to find out that his bride was really a groom less than two weeks after their wedding day, the South China Morning Post reported.
