  • Young Thug’s lawyer held in contempt, arrested after claims of “secret” meeting

I don't know much about this case other than Fani Willis has charged a rapper thug with RICO charges.

However, I do know that a judge shouldn't meet with a prosecutor and witness without the defense attorney present. And the judge found the attorney in contempt for refusing to tell how he found out about the secret meeting.

Here is how I read on Twitter that it went down:

"Rapper Young Thug's lawyer *arrested* after finding out about a secret meeting that the judge allegedly had with prosecutors and a star witness.

    Fulton County is a mess.

Lawyer Brian Steel confronted Judge Ural Glanville about an alleged secret meeting.

When Steel demanded answers, the judge gaslit and asked Steel to explain how he found out about the meeting.

When Steel refused, the judge held him in contempt, had him escorted out of the courtroom, and taken into custody.

Steel: "If [the meeting is] true what this is is coercion, witness intimidation, ex parte communications that we have a constitutional right to be present for."

Glanville: "I still want to know, how did you come upon this information. Who told you?"

Steel: "What I wanna know is why wasn’t I there.""

The lawsuit against the store is going to be for major dollars. The insurance company and grocery store will probably settle for a very large amount of money to avoid any more publicity on the crime.

I’m sure she has had interactions with the court in the past. I’m sure she has been violent in the past.

Unfortunately, they can’t sue the judges who kept allowing her to go free to commit more crimes. It’s that “immunity” thing you know. Something that all politicians and government employees have unless their name is Trump.

It will be a jobs program for illegal aliens. “Care” will be identified as sticking their head in the door to see if the patient is upright.

Which makes sense of course. The Gates believe that the earth will die off if more children are born because of the contribution to “global chaos”. Although they themselves aren’t willing to “exit” to make room for new children to enjoy life they do enjoy the money they make while speaking and writing on the subject.

I agree that nursing homes need more attention paid to patients. So, is the regulation (notice we no longer have laws--simply regulation by decree), requiring 3.48 hours of "nursing" care or "attendant" care? There is a different between the two.
  • Small business uncertainty reaches pandemic-era levels

“Every month we barely scrape by now. The cash we set aside during the boom is long gone. Holding out hope they let trump win.”

That’s what every small business is suffering from right now.

BTW, I watched a video today from a used car dealer as he walked through a car auction law. The cars hitting the auction block right now, are those repo’d from “buy here-pay here” lots. Those are car lots with 20 to 25% interest rates and the cars are pretty much junk since the owner took little care of the vehicles. Cracked windows, peeling paint, dents, broken tail lights, etc.

He said those types of lots are seeing more buyers because with inflation people are behind on their bills and their credit rating is taking a hit. That, combined with tighter bank lending, is forcing consumers to buy at high interest rate dealers. Then, they can’t make the payments so off to repo the cars go.

It’s a spiraling cycle. The former middle-class consumer is moving to the lower-class rung and having to do without things they normally took for granted. Extra-curricular activities for children are being cut, vacations are off the calendar, and parents are having to learn to cook since restaurant prices are so high. Middle class consumers who in the past traded in their vehicle every five years are now hanging on to them. Therefore, new cars aren’t moving of the dealer’s lots and those used trade-in vehicles aren’t hitting the used car market.

I think by this fall, you are going to see more bad economic news hitting consumers. The media tries to hide it and boost “Bidenomics” but voters look at their own monthly budget and know they are in a lot worse shape than they were four years ago.

Nope. No surprise there. Kristol is still trying to be relevant. Conservatives don’t want him so he is attempting to prove his “creds” with the left.

As an aside, SCOTUS has an opinion day scheduled for Thursday. They just this afternoon added an additional opinion day for this week which will be on Friday.

I’ll try to remember to post a thread here as the opinions are announced on both Thursday and Friday.

If the President doesn’t have immunity for his communications and actions then neither do members of Congress.

Let’s go for Liz Cheney as well.

    Nailed it!

The GOPe doesn’t form groups that fund ads without approval from at least some of the “big guys” in the party. Or former big guys. Maybe Paul Ryan? Or speaking of big, maybe Chris Christie. The Bush clan?

Which are more dangerous to conservatives and our nation? The left or the "stab you in the back" GOP establishment? I wonder who exactly is behind this ad campaign and who is funding it?

A President has to have a wide range of immunity as President. If not, the opposing party would stop him at every turn no matter the policy implemented, words spoken, or action taken. That's been the precedent for decades. This is just another "Trump" exception to previously accepted rules and laws.

It's a bit like the executive privilege that all previous Presidential advisors have enjoyed. Suddenly, courts have decided that anyone who advised President Trump has to 'spill the beans' on any policy decision and are liable for some crime if they fail to so do. Of course, that doesn't apply to Biden and his advisors or appointees.

With 3 weeks remaining in the term, there are 30 cases remaining undecided. The Court is going to have to issue an average of ten opinions a week between now and the first of July. They have been issuing about 3 a week up to now so they are going to have to pick up the pace. The next decision day listed on the calendar is Thursday, but they will soon start scheduling a second or even third opinion day each week.

You can see a list of this year’s cases here:

    https://www.scotusblog.com/case-files/terms/ot2023/

(The cases that have “Held” and the court’s findings below them have already been decided. Those that remain undecided indicate the “Issue” to be resolved. The Chevron cases, the Fischer case, and the Presidential immunity case is three of the most waited-for opinions. I suspect they will be issued during the last week of June.)

“I guess there’s something I’m missing. If LePen’s National Rally is set to trounce Macron, why would he call a snap election? I don’t get it. Does he want defeat?”

Oh no! No, indeed.! Macron wants an snap election to “fix” things. Let the people have their say. He will win and then can say “the voters have spoken’. A bit like the 2020 election when the media let us know we had voted for a return to “normalcy”.

This is the left’s new narrative. “Trump might look for revenge and do to us what we did to him! Accountability should be off the table”

Their plan is to insist that even after what they have done, in order to return to normalcy, they shouldn’t have to pay a price. Remember their mantra after the election of 2016? “Leave Hillary alone and let’s return to our principles and normal procedures for the good of the country”. The GOPe members who deliberately got close to Trump to push that plan abandoned him once he agreed.

They ‘play that tune’ every time.

Total b.s. I remember in the 70s when tornadoes were a regular occurrence in the southeast. Then we went years without any significant tornado activity but often read of tornadoes in the mid-west. Then, there were tornadoes again. Last month, the lower mid states were getting tornadoes night after night but the storms fizzled out before arriving in the southern states.

The same goes for snow and ice storms. We will have a few years of winters with numerous snow/ice storms and then nothing of significance for years after that.

The meteorologists will be telling us to prepare for a hard cold winter with several inches of snow. They get the children get all excited multiple times again promising them another “snowmeggedon” for the south. No snow at all. Many years, we don’t even get to heavy jacket weather.

They make it all up for clicks and dollars. They DO NOT KNOW.
