Apparently he was in the tech industry and sold his company to (and later was employed by) Microsoft. So, he probably has connections to potential support and donors from the West Coast. That connection might make a Trump-Burgum ticket more palatable to West Coast tech industry types.

Burgum as VP would place him as the Republican presidential nominee in 2028. A former software company exec as president would be comparatively more valuable to American tech companies (as opposed to another lawyer). So they may despise Trump, but getting Burgum in line for the throne might be worth it to them. After all, what’s the alternative? Kamala Harris on the dem side?

He is my cousin so I know a few things about him. He built Great Plains software & then sold to Microsoft for LOTS of dinero. He became an executive with MSFT and in a book the current CEO called Burgum the “soul of Microsoft”. But...he went back to the Great Plains of ND.

He’s a decent guy with common sense problem solving. Our family had grain elevators. My branch moved to the San Diego area partly because of the winters in ND.

Do you have any proof to suggest the tech community might support Burgum?
