Slap in the face: Army stops allowing deployed soldiers to store cars, belongings at military bases

If you want to know in what regard the Biden administration holds our military, look no further than a policy implemented last fall that has flown under the radar. Until last fall, the Army funded storage requests for soldiers who were deployed. That is no longer the case, according to Task & Purpose.

On Oct 1, 2023, a memo was issued by Army Sustainment Command notifying soldiers that the Army would no longer store household goods or privately-owned vehicles for “soldiers deployed for contingency operations.”

“We understand the burden this could potentially place on Soldiers,” Army spokesperson Sgt. Pablo Saez told Task & Purpose. He noted the Army’s G-1 deputy chief of staff for personnel was drafting a policy “that would enable such storage.”

Saez said the Army Sustainment command ceased using operational funds to store soldiers’ private vehicles and household goods due to policy and funding restraints, Saez said.

“Funding restraints?” With all the money the federal government blows on frivolous programs, there isn’t enough money? With all the money the Pentagon spends on diversity, equity, and inclusion nonsense (last November asking for $114 million), they cannot afford to pay storage fees for deployed Army personnel?

They want to make life so unpleasant that people leave so illegals can serve and gain citizenship.

“Slap in the face: Army stops allowing deployed soldiers to store cars, belongings at military bases”

Take that, Putin!!!! Our grunts are RICH ENOUGH to no longer need any help in storing their belongings! I bet your crappy soldiers don’t get rich from military service!

They probably want that space to house illegals.

They (government) just don’t have the room to store all that stuff. They need it for the illegal slags Biden is importing.

Don’t joke about it because that might be exactly what they have in mind. I did a tour in Banbridge, Maryland during Vietnam, and the base had been reduced from 200,000 plus during World War II (Departure for Europe) that had been reduced to about 2000. They had hundreds or thousands of quanset huts not in use that they could store a lot of people. So your joke might be a prophecy of things to come.

Married troops with children...

Our household furniture and items were picked up by a big Mayflower truck and taken to storage when we went overseas during Nam...

They shipped 2,000 pounds of household goods and 250 for personal items (clothes etc) each (even our 10-month-old son had an allowance of 250 pounds.)

I took my sewing machine and our $4 6-foot artificial Christmas tree :) Good thing the BX got in trees but they were little and cost $100 ...

They also shipped a car for us...

I wonder if they have stopped that too ???

Perhaps, following the thousands of trials that SHOULD happen to the Biden Crime Family, the courts will allow a military firing squad execution of that sordid bunch. Deserving, justified, and sooooo very pleasurable to watch.

I remember from a few years ago that there are some military installations where illegals were already housed.

Barring RINOs giving Biden the UKR money he wants and using illegal slag invasion as the threat, there’s nothing he can do. He has to put them somewhere - out of vote-rich leftist Democrat urban enclaves. He can warehouse them in these places and call it regular operating expenses of our military and push the funds need through on CRs as much as he can and on NDAAs where the actual truth gets buried.

“They never paid me to store my car”

Back in the day Four of us cooks from four different ships chipped in and bought a Vista Cruiser junker. Who ever was inport drove it.

Civilian clothes? Seabags only, ever hear of locker clubs? It was an offbase facility where you could rent a locker, store some dungarees, a couple of shirts and shoes. Leave the ship on Liberty, head to the locker club change into your civilian attire and go out on the town, come back to the locker club change back into uniform and head back to the ship for duty. It was a different time.
