“I do my thing and you do yours. I am not in this world to live up to your expectations,
and you are not in this world to live up to mine. You are you and I am I,
and if by chance we find each other, then it is beautiful. If not, it can’t be helped.”
-Albert Einstein
At first thought, an about me page seems to be a little self serving, I mean, am I supposed to ramble on a bit about myself under the self-serving premise that you are remotely interested. Well, my name is Robert Clark and I reside in Arkansas. I choose to never hide behind a moniker or screen-name. I am proud of who I am and what I believe. If someone wishes to "track me down" because of my beliefs, I'm always prepared to put someone in their place - enough said.
I am single, by choice, and enjoy spending most of my time tinkering on all types of projects - modifying, re-purposing, improving; you name it, I tinker with it. Truth be told and depending who you ask, I'm a bit of an intellectual, geek, nerd, and creative genius all rolled up in one package. Professionally, I am a transportation consultant. The old saying is that all you need in order to be a consultant is grey hair and a hemorrhoid. The grey hair to look knowledgeable and experienced, the hemorrhoid to look concerned.
I enjoy a round of golf occasionally but would never be confused with a talented golfer. I am an avid reader - devouring copious amounts of printed information. My interests are quite varied. I generally, as a rule, stay away from fiction - I'm more intrigued by facts and data. Give me a pot of great coffee and a book and call me happy.
In the fall my obsession is college football. I'm a huge Arkansas Razorback fan. If there is a college football game on, I will watch it or at least have it on in the background. Pro football is a joke and I can't bring myself to watch a second of it. My brother in law is also a great Razorback fan, and On game days we can be found in front of a TV, sharing a pizza or steak and an adult beverage or two and debating every play.
You're probably thinking wow this guy is perfect, but to coin a phrase by my favorite talk show host, let not your heart be troubled I am but a mere mortal. My short comings are many starting with cigarettes, my insatiable love of coffee and my opinionated, un-relenting and outspoken willingness to debate anyone to defend my conservative views.
My love of this great country and interest in politics started when I was in middle school and junior high - President Reagan lit a fire in me that burns to this day.
