I'm Joshua Sharp, a small-town kid with big-city dreams. I'm a junior majoring in Communication at USC and a reporter for our college paper, the Daily Trojan. I also write for the Daily Trojan Opinions section, provide weekly political analysis for CrushTV.com, and have participated in several public speaking contests and amateur debates. I've also appeared as a panelist on USC's televised debate show, Platforum.

I want to be a political speechwriter or youth pastor after I graduate. You can see some of my current ventures at right.

People fascinate me. Glory lures me. And the Lord loves me.

If you want to know more, drop me a line. Warmest regards.

MY PROFESSIONAL SIDE

Journalism
(Investigative and Crime Beat writer; Opinions section columnist)

Though my primary interest lies in political speechwriting, I have spent a considerable amount of time as a reporter, in high school, college and the professional world. My most recent work has been for the Daily Trojan, recently named the best college paper in California. You can find all of my latest stories by clicking on the picture above.

I specialize in investigative reporting and crime. Last semester, I published an investigative article on men soliciting anonymous sex in campus bathrooms. Read the story here.

I have covered campus and community events, anniversary issues, breaking news stories, police beat stories, an academic cheating scandal, a broken professor-rating system, and have even been following a murder case since November 2005, breaking multiple exclusives on the case, which has been covered by the Los Angeles Times, People magazine, Inside Edition and other national media outlets. One of my stories was picked up by the Drudge Report (see archive here).

My investigative article on cruising was mentioned in an editorial in LA City Beat, a Los Angeles newspaper with a circulation of 100,000. The article was also discussed in multiple blogs.

I encourage you to read any and all of my articles. I pride myself on being extraordinarily objective to all parties concerned, and appreciate any feedback you may have on my stories.

Political Analysis
(Public Speaking and Speechwriting)

This semester, I've teamed up with CrushTV.com to start an exclusive online political show, a weekly 5-minute broadcast with my opinions on 3-4 state, national or international news items from the previous week. I film on Friday afternoons, and new shows are added to the site every weekend. Unfortunately, the site is intended for college students and therefore is limited to those with a .edu e-mail address. But if you have a college e-mail, please check it out and leave me feedback!
