"Nothing is more pleasant, nothing more suitable to flatter our egos as a freedom without restrictions. "Freedom" is the word with which our enlightened century wants to replace religion. One condemns the whole past as a time of ignorance and prejudice, while knowing nothing of that past and very little of the present." - Empress Maria Theresa

Brigid defend me, Michael defend me, Mary defend me, by land and by sea. Amen

Prayer to St. Brigid

Brigid
You were a woman of peace.
You brought harmony where there was conflict.
You brought light to the darkness.
You brought hope to the downcast.
May the mantle of your peace cover those who are troubled and anxious,
and may peace be firmly rooted in our hearts and in our world.
Inspire us to act justly and to reverence all God has made.
Brigid you were a voice for the wounded and the weary.
Strengthen what is weak within us.
Calm us into a quietness that heals and listens.
May we grow each day into greater wholeness in mind, body and spirit.
Amen

Prayer to Saint Patrick

O Blessed Apostle of Ireland, glorious Saint Patrick,
many centuries ago you converted Ireland to Christ.
Receive my grateful and heartfelt prayers today
and intercede for me and for those I love.

I unite my prayers to those of all your spiritual children,
turning confidently to God through the ages.
May I begin anew at this moment to love God with all my heart
and serve him with all my strength.

Gain for me that missionary spirit
which inspired you to work for the gospel.
Open my heart to charity for all the poor
that they may find joy and relief
and give glory to God with all the saints.
Amen.

# Mull of Kintyre, Oh mist rolling in from
The sea my desire, is always to be here
Oh mull of Kintyre
# Far have I travelled and much have I seen
Dark distant mountains and valleys of green
Past painted deserts, the sunset’s on fire
As he carries me home to the Mull of Kintyre
Chorus
# Sweep through the heather like deer in the glen
Carry me back to the days I knew then ,
Nights when we sang like a heavenly choir
Of the life and the times of the Mull of Kintyre
Chorus
# Smiles in the sunshine and tears in the rain
Still take me back where my mem’ries remain .
Flickering embers grow higher and higher
As they carry me back to the Mull of Kintyre
Chorus

Confíteor unum baptísma in remissiónem peccatorum. Et expecto resurrectionem mortuorum, et vitam ventúri sæculi. Amen.

Our Father, who art in heaven. Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those that trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power and the glory, forever and ever. Amen.
