2400 hour pilot but getting too old for any very heavy weather IFR. Personal minimums are now 300 and a 1/2. (pilots will understand.)

2 Army tours in the Great Southeast Asia War Games, (MindBender 26 was my radio call in RVN.) Was known to the indig as “Di Ui Mhap” in Tay Ninh and surrounding areas (Far western III Corps up against Cambodian border; AKA the Fishhook and Parrot’s Beak areas.)

Just back from 2008 return to Vietnam. The people there have some of the most enthusiastic work ethics I have seen in years. Virtually everything is private sector, including the liberal favorite; health care. Vietnam Airlines is privately-held, flies all new equipment, has US and UK pilots, is spotlessly clean and serves meals on every flight segment! Fares are cheap and the airline is profitable without government subsidies. American liberal politicians should take a lesson.

BTW, the war is VERY over for the citizenry and most love "Melcans."

Now know from RVN experience that if The Almighty had wanted us to depend on the 5.56mm round in wartime, He would have made all our enemies two feet tall.

Had dinner with Helen Thomas in DC a few times back in my Crusading Reporter days. She is a mean drunk, rabidly anti-Semitic, absolutely hates every member of the Bush family, and is truly one of the ugliest women in the world. That nose of her’s looks like an arresting hook on an F-14 Tomcat.
