Blessed be the Lord my strength, which teacheth my hands to war, and my fingers to fight. If you don't have a sword, sell your cloak and buy one. God's words, not mine. Precious in the sight of the Lord, is the death of His saints. Am I saved you ask? Yes, sometimes, and not yet. Yes, meaning, I am saved from the eternal consequences of sin. Sometimes, meaning, I am saved from the power of sin, but not as much as I wish I was. Not yet, meaning I have not yet been saved and removed from the very presence of sin, Someday, when I see Him face to face, I will be able to say, yes, yes, and yes. Hebrews 11:10: For he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God. This earth is not my home, I am just passing through, on my way to that city.

Rudyard Kipling

The Wrath of the Awakened Saxon

It was not part of their blood,
It came to them very late,
With long arrears to make good,
When the Saxon began to hate.

They were not easily moved,
They were icy -- willing to wait
Till every count should be proved,
Ere the Saxon began to hate.

Their voices were even and low.
Their eyes were level and straight.
There was neither sign nor show
When the Saxon began to hate.

It was not preached to the crowd.
It was not taught by the state.
No man spoke it aloud
When the Saxon began to hate.

It was not suddently bred.
It will not swiftly abate.
Through the chilled years ahead,
When Time shall count from the date
That the Saxon began to hate.

"Amazing Grace"

In his church yard in Olney, England, the composer of this great hymn of faith was laid to rest. On his stone, this inscription:

John Newton, clerk, once an infidel and libertine, a servant of slaves in Africa, was, by the rich mercy of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, preserved, restored, pardoned, and appointed to preach the faith he had long labored to destroy.

Thar stands me wife, the idol of me life, singin' roll a bowl a ball a penny a pitch.

High Flight

By John Gillespie Magee Jr

"Oh, I have slipped the surly bonds of earth,
And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;
Sunward I've climbed and joined the tumbling mirth of sun-split clouds -
and done a hundred things You have not dreamed of -
wheeled and soared and swung high in the sunlit silence.
Hovering there I've chased the shouting wind along
and flung my eager craft through footless halls of air.

Up, up the long delirious burning blue
I've topped the wind-swept heights with easy grace,
where never lark, or even eagle flew;
and, while with silent, lifting mind I've trod
the high untrespassed sanctity of space,
put out my hand and touched the face of God."
