I am a conservative man, age 63. I have a nephew who served in the Marine Corps., with two deploys to Iraq under his belt. He returned from his second tour in Iraq Oct/05. During both tours he witnessed more then once the loss of fellow Marines in ambushes and mortar attacks at bases.
As of 2008 he worked for NATO/ISAF in Kabul as a civilian employed contractor on the Intel Staff. Recently transfered to Bagram AFB attached to TF Warrior where he works with primarily Marines, and shortly to his return to the states worked with Marines in Helmond Province in the thick of things.
A NOTE: Perhaps my login name misleads some to think I served in the United States Marine Corps. I did not. I simply have deepy embraced what they stand for,how they train, and their proud traditions. And I certainly have similar feelings for all our military branches. They all serve their nation with honor and commitment.
Background:
Divorced. Father with one sweet daughter.
Worked on various military programs at Westinghouse AeroSpace/Defense in MD. during and after the NAM years in a engineering capacity, then employed at AT&T Bell Labs for a number of years involved in Integrated Circuit Design, and heavily into UNIX administration, database development etc.. Lost job in 1994 DURING SLICK WILLY'S YEARS IN OFFICE, have not found a job that has lasted (tried to start a Linux based small business server business) until landing a job at a Philadelphia Home Depot May/2006. Now I attempt to save and restore lost savings. Maintain a strong desire to keep informed on national and world events. And educate those that simply do not understand that the liberal far left will destroy this country in the long run.
NOTE: Anyone that worked at Allentown PA Bell Labs and Western Electric and Westinghouse AeroSpace/Defense Friendship Site MD, between say 1966 and 2004 please feel free to drop me a email.

"War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself." John Stuart Mill
