  • Martin Case Affidavit

I strongly disagree with David French’s analysis. I’m inclined, instead, to agree with commentators ranging from former Reagan Justice Department official Mark Levin to Harvard’s Alan Dershowitz that the affidavit is stunningly weak — “unethical,” as Prof. Dershowitz puts it. In fact, I go further (which, after nearly 20 years of writing and supervising the writing of complaint affidavits, I think I’m qualified to do). This affidavit is not law, it is agitprop: invoking, for example, the explosive term “profiled” but carefully avoiding any discussion of what it means and failing to note that (a) there is no evidence of...

Harvard University law professor Alan Dershowitz made an appearance on on MSNBC’s Hardball to discuss the Zimmerman arrest affidavit, and had some incredibly harsh language for Angela Corey concerning her actions in the George Zimmerman prosecution. Dershowitz is a well-known Democrat with a column on the Huffington Post, but seemed stunned by how poorly written the affidavit was, going so far as to call it “irresponsible and unethical,” as well as Corey’s actions politically motivated. He also said that if the prosecution didn’t have more evidence for the case than what we’ve seen, “a good judge would throw it out.”...

Harvard University law professor Alan Dershowitz appeared on MSNBC’s Hardball where fill-in host Michel Smerconish asked him his opinions of the arrest warrant issued and carried out for alleged Trayvon Martin murderer, George Zimmerman. Dershowitz called the affidavit justifying Zimmerman’s arrest “not only thin, it’s irresponsible.” He went on to criticize the decision to charge Zimmerman for second degree murder by special prosecutor Angela Cory as being politically motivated. “You’ve seen the affidavit of probable cause. What do you make of it,” Smerconish asked. “It won’t suffice,” Dershowitz replied without hesitation. “Most affidavits of probable cause are very thin. This...

Here's a copy of the Affidavit of Probable Cause filed as the basis for the Second Degree Murder charges against George Zimmerman. I can't find an electronic copy from which I can copy and paste, so you'll need to review the .pdf on your browser or download it. http://www.scoutmastersandbox.com/Zimmerman_Probable_Cause_Document.pdf

If you read the article HERE you find a lot of good information. Maps are displayed along with time lines that describe the encounter between Martin and Zimmerman. This is the most detailed account I have seen yet.A week or two ago another thread asked why no footage had been shown with Trayvon getting his Skittles at the 7-Eleven. I speculated that they didn't want the public to know that this "poor little boy" was actually much bigger than Zimmerman, and no longer a little boy. But there may be another reason; he was never there.According to the account Zimmerman...
