The White House is hiring a contractor to harvest information about Americans from its pages on social networking websites such as Facebook, MySpace, Twitter, YouTube and Flickr. The National Legal and Policy Center, or NLPC, revealed the White House New Media team is seeking to hire a technology vendor to collect data such as comments, tag lines, e-mail, audio and video from any place where the White House "maintains a presence" – for a period of up to eight years.

How do I add a video to my blog posts so that they show up? I have seen some posts with videos I can watch but when I look at my previews I cannot tell if they work or not.

I have noticed a few comments on the YouTube site attached to the protest videos that are saying YouTube has stopped the "hit-counters" of the protest videos and marked all of the with a "Thumbs-Down." Anyone notice if this is true? Has YouTube altered the view counters? Are they marking the protest videos with Thumbs-Down? Something else to watch.

Max Blumenthal, son of former Clinton aide Sidney Blumenthal, made quite a splash on the Internet recently when he posted a video portraying drunken Americans in Israel hurling racist epithets against President Barack Obama.
