YouTube has suspended the video account of popular Chinese dissident Guo Wengui amid a mounting pressure from the Beijing government to silence one of its critics. According to a person familiar with the action, YouTube issued what the company calls a "strike" against Guo, who since the beginning of the year has created an online sensation by posting lengthy videos in which he reveals details of corruption by senior Chinese officials. The suspension involves a 90-day block on any new live-stream postings of videos and was the result of a complaint made against a recent Guo video for alleged harassment....

Pop Culture, Commercials, and White Guys by Dystopic | Oct 14, 2017 | Culture War, SJWs | 12 comments It isn’t difficult to find people complaining about how “people of color” are treated in America today. Turn on the TV, and you’ll see highly-paid NFL players lamenting this. White liberals are constantly bashing “whiteness”, and attending lectures and classes wherein white people are variously termed devils, demons, oppressors, or some other thing. It is the same for men in general, as opposed to women. Whites, and white men in particular, are generally seen as squares. They can’t dance, can’t sing,...

A Russian propaganda account purporting to be run by two African-American video bloggers named “Williams and Kalvin” was taken down by YouTube on Monday. The takedown comes hours after a The Daily Beast report revealed Williams and Kalvin’s Facebook and Twitter pages were pulled in August due to their ties to the Kremlin’s propaganda arm. The account was “terminated for violating YouTube’s Community Guidelines,” according to a notice posted on the page. Williams and Kalvin’s videos mostly spouted Russian talking points and inflammatory conspiracy theories about the Clintons, including accusations of Bill Clinton hiding a secret love child. Google, which...

On the same day that Rush Limbaugh read my recent column on air, YouTube — in the dead of night — demonetized a large percentage of videos on my channel. My YouTube channel has been around for years with many recordings of very boring village meetings highlighting local Chicago-area corruption. Recently, I started doing reaction videos and comedy and gained a bunch of new subscribers and it's been fun. I don't swear (certainly no "F" words) and there's nothing really controversial unless you count making fun of gender-confused rabid leftists with blue hair "controversial." Yesterday, October 5, after Rush read...

YouTube is modifying its search engine to "promote more authoritative sources" in an effort to demote debunked conspiracy theories that have been spreading in the wake of the Las Vegas massacre, according to The Wall Street Journal. ... One of those results in question was a video titled "Proof Las Vegas Shooting Was a FALSE FLAG attack—Shooter on 4th Floor," which claimed there were multiple shooters involved in the massacre — a rumor that has been refuted by authorities. On Tuesday, that video appeared as the fifth result when searching YouTube for "Las Vegas shooting," according to the report, helping...

The EU wants online companies to filter out illegal content, but without a standard definition of what that is or how it should be removed. Critics say the potential for unwarranted censorship sends a dangerous message. Vera Jourova says she’s asking internet companies to do more to stop online hate speech, and that request is not just in her capacity as the European Union’s commissioner for justice. Last year, she chose to close down her own Facebook account following a nonstop stream of online abuse. “It was the highway for hatred and I am not willing to support it,” Jourova...

I don't know Joey. He does mostly comedy/pranks. But some of his videos are political, such as exposing the AntiFa as he goes undercover, along with other videos which show the violence of BLM against All Lives Matter, etc. Some of his videos may be staged, but these I think are not. If you read the comments, the Left is giving thumbs down and trying to ban him, but he is an extremely popular YouTuber and the Right should support him.

Several social media companies in the West have been criticised for a perceived lack of transparency in alleged talks with the Iranian authorities on censoring content to the approval of the country’s strict religious authorities. Instagram, currently available in the country – as well as Twitter and YouTube, which are blocked but widely visited by Iranians using proxy servers – have all been reported by local media in recent weeks as as co-operating with the authorities to aid them in blocking or censoring “immoral” content.

I'm starting to believe that with all of this online censorship, the graffiti of the future will be IP addresses written on walls in chalk.

Stand up to the progressive left-guided mainstream and social media, by keeping on going to the videos and news sites of your choice One by one, they’re turning the lights off on the Internet. Not long ago the promised Information Highway for everyone, the World Wide Web is fast transforming over to the Misinformation Highway. An all-powerful Google is now flat-out dictating which videos you will be able to see. A pious Facebook the judge and jury of which topics will be permitted to trend

Former US Congressman Ron Paul has joined a growing list of independent political journalists and commentators who’re being economically punished by YouTube despite producing videos that routinely receive hundreds of thousands of views. **snip** The notion that YouTube would want to economically punish a former US Congressman for sharing his views on US foreign policy – a topic that he is unequivocally qualified to speak about – is absurd. Furthermore, *the “review requested” marking on one of Paul's videos reveals that they were initially flagged by users before YouTube's moderators confirmed that the videos were unsuitable for a broad audience.*

In the aftermath of Google’s recent firing of James Damore, much of the criticism of the company has focused on its utterly hypocritical and alarming approach to free political speech by perceived political enemies, particularly on sites like YouTube, where videos featuring disfavored political views may soon be placed in a digital no-man’s land.Conservatives and right-leaning YouTube commentators have cried bloody murder, and rightly so. However, while a focus on this is encouraging and entirely appropriate, it completely understates the scope of Google’s willingness to crack down on free speech on YouTube in a misguided attempt to subject the website...

Police are investigating a Denver high school's administration after video surfaced of cheerleaders being forced into doing splits, NBC affiliate KUSA reported. The video shows an incoming freshman at East High School surrounded by teammates and a coach in June during the first week of cheer camp. The girl screams in pain and repeatedly cries "please stop" as the group tries to force her legs into a split. KUSA received seven similar videos. The school's principal, cheer coach, assistant cheer coach and an assistant principal, as well as Denver Public Schools deputy general counsel, have been placed on leave during...

It all happened in the course of one night, and it happened quite suddenly. Last Thursday night, I noticed that YouTube demonetized my interview with a former KKK Grand Dragon who is now an associate pastor in an African American church, claiming it was "Not suitable for all advertisers"? Why wouldn't it be? It was a great, positive, redemptive story, one that the whole world should hear. Why flag it? The demonetizing of this video was the first thing that got my attention, but I thought to myself, "It's probably because it has KKK in the title." For months now,...
