CNN anchor Wolf Blitzer did not look so happy as he competed with actress Dana Delany and comedian Andy Richter in a round of “Celebrity Jeopardy.” The photo shows the scores at the end of the first two rounds. For “Final Jeopardy,” Alex Trebek was nice and wiped out that nasty negative number, credited him with $1,000 and Wolf nailed that final answer with the correct question.

On Tuesday's Situation Room, CNN host Wolf Blitzer tried to downplay the significance of the arrest of the Democratic governor of Illinois Rod Blagojevich by making an unequivocal statement about Republicans: "You know, most of the scandals -- most of the political scandals...in recent years have involved Republicans...and they're all pretty well-known." He continued by labeling the Democrat’s apprehension a "huge embarrassment." Blitzer made the remark to Karen Finney, the communications director for the Democratic National Committee, during the regular "Strategy Session" segment. Finney appeared with Republican strategist John Feehery, and the three discussed the political implications of Blagojevich's arrest....

It's not exactly an earth shattering scandal but CNN did get caught in a bit of a fib when they declared they were the first to use hologram technology in a broadcast featuring Wolf Blitzer interviewing a Jessica Yellin "hologram" on election day. I put "hologram" in quotes because a perturbed Don Reisinger of CNET News declared that it was false advertising since CNN wasn't using a real hologram. CNN has a wonderful new toy that they seem to love playing around with. It's called a "hologram." Wolf Blitzer for one apparently doesn't think Tom Ridge's pro-choice position should disqualify him as John McCain's VP pick. The former Pennsylvania congressman and governor was a guest on this afternoon's Situation Room, and Blitzer began by playing a clip of Rush Limbaugh urging McCain not to pick a pro-choice running mate, saying it would "obliterate all the progress that he experienced" at the Saddleback forum. Bill has famously turned the focus on himself, in effect giving Hillary's concession speech on a recent losing night and more recently exhorting people to elect "me." Today it was Madeleine Albright's turn. Rush Limbaugh has often indicated that he has no beef with Wolf Blizter. And I must say that I've generally found Blitzer to be a straight shooter who has rarely-if-ever provided grist for my NewsBusting mill.
