The majority of the American people voted against the "Politics of Hate" and repudiated Michael Moore and his clones. On the other hand, CNN said 70 percent of the Kerry voters were voting not for him but against President Bush. The "Hate George Bush" slogans we heard so much during the election may be unusual in this day and age, but hate and violence are not unknown in American history. For almost 100 years after the post-Civil War Reconstruction period, the Ku Klux Klan maintained a solid Democrat South through violence and intimidation. The Klan murdered black people for many...

I take special pride in this week's election results because I was a foot soldier in enemy territory for the battle. Along with several hundred very anxious and very capable attorneys, I went into Northeast Philadelphia as a "Lawyer For Bush". For those of you who don't know what that means, imagine yourself strapping on 50 pounds of red meat and jumping into shark-infested waters... or worse, imagine covering yourself in twinkies and cookie dough and entering Michael Moore's house. I spent the final 72 hours of the 2004 campaign season in Philadelphia. Pushing my way through Kerry supporters in...

Dave Pentecost is one of a number of volunteer filmmakers who worked with Michael Moore to document election day conditions at polling sites throughout Ohio.... Dave sends BoingBoing this short movie comprised of excerpts from footage they captured on November 2, 2004. Much of it was apparently edited on laptops in the back of a bus. He says: "Our thanks to People for the American Way and Election Protection. My apologies to the Jayhawks for not clearing the music first. (I'm still waiting to hear back, their rights person is in transit, I'll do it next week). The decision to...

The 25-year-old son of newly elected congresswoman Gwen Moore was arrested Friday by Milwaukee police and later released in connection with the election day slashing of tires on 20 vans and cars rented by the Republican Party, according to police records. Advertisement Sowande Ajumoke Omokunde, also known as Supreme Solar Allah, arrived at the Milwaukee police administration building Friday morning with his attorney, was arrested at 9 a.m. and held in the police holding facility for several hours before being released, according to records. Minutes after a piece of concrete block was thrown through a window at the Alachua County Republican headquarters early this morning, a man was arrested and told officers he was upset about the election. The incident occured about 3:15 a.m. today at 1212 N. Main Street in the Gainesville Shopping Center, said Sgt. Keith Kameg of the Gainesville Police Department. He said two people were inside the building watching election returns and saw the man walk up and throw the block. The people, Nicholas Biltz, 27, and Katherine Vitale, 19, both of Gainesville, were not injured. "They gave a very...

A voter called into WTAM, a Cleveland radio station, to report that Moveon.org had signs posted at the entrance of a polling place, against state law prohibiting signs to about 150 to 175 ft. Senate hopeful Democratic Congresswoman Denise Majette said Monday a company owned by her opponent, Republican Congressman Johnny Isakson, was guilty of discrimination. As both candidates crisscrossed the state, the Majette campaign distributed information that accused Isakson’s company, Northside Realty, of discriminating against Black homebuyers in the early 1970s. The company, which was founded by Isakson’s father and also run by him at the time of the charges, was found in violation of the Fair Housing Act by the federal government in 1970. “The public needs to know what his record is and I’m not doing anything other than informing the...

I am posting the flyers placed recently in North St. Louis, a predominately black area. The first one is from the group Americans Comming Together. It implys that republicans used waterhoses on blacks during the civil rights movement, although, as someone here pointed out, it was actually democrats who did this. See for yourself: The next one we found Sunday, on the windshields of cars at churches. We were putting out pro-bush, anti-abortion literature. Notice it's from "Clergy." I guess they don't care about Kerry's view on abortion: I was quite mad when I saw these. Complete condescending lies....

November 01, 2004 Live Report From Courtroom A Mr. Jordan was just testifying at the hearing in Daschle's lawsuit to stop poll watching. He worked for Howard Dean in Iowa. He said that poll watchers would "roll their eyes" and make a "negative face" at times and that, in his opinion, this constituted "intimidation" of voters. See SDP for a look at the complaint. UPDATE: Another report on Daschle's first witness, the Howard Dean worker. He's a lawyer from Virginia who works for Lexis-Nexis and has been in South Dakot for 48 hours. He testified to "note-taking" and "faces" being...

LANSING, Mich. (AP) -- Some Michigan voters have received phone calls falsely claiming that Sen. John Kerry would make gay marriage legal. In New Jersey, some voters have heard a man claiming to be former Army Gen. Norman Schwarzkopf backing the Democrat. Elderly voters in Pennsylvania have been called and told they are ineligible to vote. Republicans and Democrats were furious Monday about the blatantly false, 11th-hour political calls to voters and demanded an end to the messages. Schwarzkopf has endorsed President Bush, but in a recording of a phone call played for The Associated Press, a man identifying himself...

TAMPA, FL – Gen. Norman Schwarzkopf today issued the following statement: "The Democratic National Committee is making fraudulent phone calls claiming that I have endorsed Senator Kerry. Nothing could be further from the truth, and I demand that they stop immediately. "Senator Kerry opposed the Reagan defense build-up that won the Cold War. Senator Kerry opposed the removal of Saddam Hussein from Kuwait. Senator Kerry proposed billions in intelligence cuts after the first attack on the World Trade Center. Senator Kerry voted against funds to equip our troops in Iraq and Afghanistan with supplies like body armor and ammunition. "I...

CLEVELAND — Thousands of people who are registered voters in Ohio and Florida possibly could vote twice in the presidential election through use of absentee ballots, The Plain Dealer reported Sunday. An investigation of voter rolls in the two key battleground states found that some double voting has occurred previously and could go undetected Tuesday, the newspaper said. Many states have only just begun to compile statewide voter registration lists to comply with a 2002 federal voting law. Such lists allow state officials to find double registrations within a state, but states rarely coordinate with one another. Virtually nothing prevents...

WASHINGTON — Florida again. And Ohio and Iowa and New Mexico and maybe Wisconsin or one or two other battleground states. All are possible settings for a replay of the court contests and recounts that marked the 2000 election. The neck-and-neck presidential election could end, as it almost always has through American history, with a clear winner and a gracious loser on Election Night. But armies of lawyers are ready for the alternative with an eye to fighting several Florida-style postelection legal wars at once. Lawyers set up command posts in key states weeks ago, and they have already filed...

Title: "Freeper report: News media concealing swastika grafitti of Bush signs" A long-time Freeper I know and trust and who wishes to remain anonymous sent me this report: This is a photo from a residential neighborhood in Carson City, Nevada. Homes in the $300k-$400k price range. The brownshirts have painted swastikas on this large Bush/Cheney sign, and it has been this way for at least 2 days. The Freeper-photographer contacted the Nevada Appeal local daily newspaper, and the newsroom personnel explained that there were many of these incidents, and they are not reporting them in order not to provide glory...

NASHUA, N.H. -- John Kerry's campaign hopes some of the Boston Red Sox' come-from-behind magic will rub off on the candidate.Red Sox co-owner Tom Werner will be outside Holman Stadium at noon Sunday to thank southern New Hampshire Red Sox fans for their support and ask them to support Kerry for president.

Our response to the sign stealers... I covered my business sign with the big Bush/Cheney sign and we dotted the yard with new signs.Down the hill, other big signs were just slashed out and stolen. My husband made a large template and now they are wood instead of vinyl. 2 at the bottom of the hill and one at the top have all been replaced. Oh yea, and we added one that wasn't there before. We dotted new signs all along the hill.

I overheard in office break room today two local dems (both pretty tight in the party and naacp) talking about what was to be done after Tuesday. One said that a plan was in place to make sure that no matter what happens on Tuesday, Kerry would be president. They mentioned that there were enough states where the electors are not required to follow the votes of the public that enough could be ‘convinced’ to switch their vote to Kerry. Their actual words was that they would be ‘strongly convinced’ to vote for the ‘right man’ no matter who they...

Michael Garone, 52, was released from jail Tuesday on his on recognizance. Garone and others were holding anti-Kerry signs at a street corner Monday in Vero Beach when Trevor Pickering drove up and said "Go Kerry," according to an arrest affidavit. Pickering argued with the anti-Kerry protesters, and then got out of the car and knocked a sign out of the hands of one of the demonstrators.

One thing is certain: 2004 will not repeat 2000. History never does. We can be certain that both campaigns and both parties are frantically trying to predict (and manipulate) the impact of voter error-and-fraud before, as well as after, this election. When the state-wide nature of the electoral system (think: battleground states) is factored into this equation plus the likelihood that the Supreme Court is going to stay out of the mess this time around ... your guess will therefore be as good as mine...

Election violence surfaces in South Florida Published Tuesday, October 26, 2004 by Sean Salai Election-related violence is on the rise this week in South Florida as impassioned Republicans and Democrats duke it out at rallies and the polls. Registered Democrats outnumber Republicans and Independents in Palm Beach County, where voters last week began casting early ballots for the Nov. 2 general election, and strained feelings are already leading to hostility. In Boca Raton this weekend, county Republicans filled out police reports for shattered car windows at a Friday rally and a vandalism incident Sunday night at their headquarters. “I’ve never...

On last saturday night at a rental property we own on a major Highway in Michigan. Democrats stole 2 Bush/Cheney signs and then proceded to vandalize our property by replacing them with 2 kerry signs. Our tenant being very angry called us so we would know. My mom got a little angry and called the county Republican office to complain. After hearing her out they told her that it's very common this year and it's been happening all over.

As Dana Roberts drove her friend to her car, they went past people waiting to see Senator John Kerry. The problem, Roberts is president of the college republicans. LANCASTER COUNTY, PA - A busload of John Kerry supporters from Washington, D.C., was waving Kerry/Edwards placards Saturday in Penn Square. Teams of volunteers from a Democrat-leaning national organization are knocking on doors in the city. And some voters can expect to find a soap opera star on their front steps Monday, asking them to vote for President George W. Bush and U.S. Sen. Arlen Specter. With voter registration at a close for the Nov. 2 election, the political parties are marshaling hundreds of volunteers for the next step in the election game: voter contact and voter turnout. Get-out-the-vote, or...

With Democratic sponsored irregularities on the rise and the specter of obstruction, lawsuits and voter intimidation at the polls on the rise, I thought maybe we needed a thread to tabulate occurrences. My suggestion when you go to vote and notice voter intimidation by Kerry supporters or DNC thugs as is being reported here in Florida, then post the facts here. The media isn't reporting it; let's help get the word out.

One woman who voted early in Boca Raton, at the Southwest County Regional Library, complained that as she stood in line, two men behind her were "trashing our president," Fletcher said, declining to identify the woman. She tried to ignore them. Then the man touched her arm and said, "Who are you voting for?" "I said, `I don't think that's an appropriate question,'" the woman said she responded. "Uh oh! We have a Bush supporter here," screamed the man behind her. For the 2 1/2 hours she had to wait in line, she was heckled by the man. As they...

The Linn County Republicans say voters were intimidated and badgered at a satellite voting center. They say democrats gathered for a rally with John Edward's daughter in the same building at the same time. No matter where you were going, you walked by signs supporting the democratic ticket. It was an event republicans say unfairly influenced voters. "Students voting yesterday when they entered the polling place could not do so without crossing a John Kerry sign," says Kirkwood student Ben Johnson. Iowa law says that posting signs, soliciting votes and electioneering on the premises of a polling place or within...

WASHINGTON (AP) — Sen. John Kerry has a simple strategy if the presidential race is in doubt on Nov. 3, the day after the election: Do not repeat Al Gore's mistakes. Unlike the former vice president, who lost a recount fight and the 2000 election, Kerry will be quick to declare victory on election night and begin defending it. He also will be prepared to name a national security team before knowing whether he's secured the presidency. [snip] The prospects for another contested election grow with every poll showing the race neck and neck. Gore prematurely conceded the 2000 race...

Under mounting political, legal and financial pressure, Sinclair Broadcast Group Inc. yesterday backed away from its plan to carry a film attacking John F. Kerry's Vietnam War record, saying it would air only portions of the movie in an hour-long special scheduled for Friday. "The experience of preparing to air this news special has been trying for many of those involved," Sinclair chief executive David D. Smith said in a statement. "The company and many of its executives have endured personal attacks of the vilest nature, as well as calls on our advertisers and our viewers to boycott our stations...

October 19, 2004 — The Big Story on Action News is a politically motivated film furor Tuesday night in Jenkintown. Supporters of George Bush and John Kerry went nose to nose Tuesday night in Montgomery County, and neither side had any intention of backing down. Nerves are fraying at the edges, and there are still two weeks before Election Day. The emotion of this politically charged presidential election got the best of some people. People who came out to see the anti-Kerry film, "Stolen Honor" were already upset that management of the Baederwood Theater cancelled the showing after threats of...

I just came from the Baederwood Theatre in Abington, PA where "Stolen Honor" was to be shown to an expected full-house. Upon arrival I was told that the theatre canceled the show due to called in threats of violence. There were about 100 people milling around outside the theatre, mostly Bush supporters, when I arrived. The Bushies were rightly indignant that we couldn't see the film and the sKerry supporters were almost gleeful in their posturing. One "vet for Kerry" was getting in the faces of many of the Bush supporters, and had to be separated by the police more...

In 1989 then-Gov. Bill Clinton was sued as one of three top Arkansas officials responsible for the intimidation of black voters in his state as part of a legal action brought under the 1965 Voting Rights Act, NewsMax.com has learned. And a year earlier the U.S. Supreme court ruled that Clinton had wrongfully tried to overturn the election of a black state representative in favor of a white Democrat. In the 1989 case, "the evidence at the trial was indeed overwhelming that the Voting Rights Act had been violated," reported the Arkansas Gazette on Dec. 6, 1989. (The paper later...

Yesterday, I drove by the welfare department in Bakersfield, California to see if anyone was registering voters there (as sometimes is the case). Sure enough, there was a democrat voter registration table. Now, hold your fire on the location. In all fairness, we Republicans have sometimes registered voters at the welfare office, though with probably far less of a natural constituency. Anyways, I parked, walked up, and listened to a woman I will refer to as "Rat-lady" as she attempted to register voters. A woman I will refer to as Maisha came over to the table to register to vote....

Another rally by civil rights groups, including the Southern Christian Leadership Conference, is scheduled for today. Jackson and Brown said the new sites and new elections office leadership won't make elections better, blistering the city's leadership in criticism painted with the memory of 27,000 invalidated votes in the 2000 election. Jackson compared the city's situation to his civil rights fights of the 1960s.

We all remember the votes that were never counted in Florida 2000. By signing this pledge, you will be joining with thousands of others in the November 3rd Urgent Response Network. Please sign the pledge...

My office is next to the national Bush Re-election Campaign HQ. There was a small protest of young people. The police quickly arrived and there were more police than protesters. There is a hoard of reporters so I would imagine this will find its way into the MSM and be exaggerated. Protestors chained themselves to the building's main doors and marched around the building and quite a few were arrested. 20-30 at most.
