Over 1,000 Virginia voters who sought an absentee ballot to vote received an additional ballot in the mail, raising further concerns about possible electoral fraud in the November election. Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam (D) and First Lady Pamela Northam have tested positive for the Chinese coronavirus, they revealed Friday. According to a statement, a member of the governor’s residence staff “who works closely within the couple’s living quarters” fell ill and tested positive for the virus. On Thursday, both the governor and first lady received a PCR nasal swab test, both of which came back positive. While the governor is currently asymptomatic, his wife is “currently experiencing mild symptoms,” according to the press release.

Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam announced Friday that he and his wife have both tested positive for the coronavirus, though he said he is showing no symptoms. He’s among four governors around the country who have tested positive for the virus that causes COVID-19, but one of the others turned out to be a false positive. A Virginia health official is seeking to block a planned campaign rally for President Trump Friday evening, citing a "severe public health threat." Natasha Dwamena, district director for the Department of Public Health, wrote in a letter Thursday the rally would break Gov. Ralph Northam's (D-Va.) executive order that generally bans gatherings larger than 250 people, the Associated Press reported. FALLS CHURCH, Va. (ABC7) — Metro has spent $3.8 million and taken five years to build two unfinished bike racks - at East Falls Church and Vienna Metro Stations. WMATA originally budgeted $600,000 for each rack, but the price tag has soared to $1.9 million each. The covered bike shelters will house 92 bikes, putting the price tag at more than $20,000 per bike. Future costs to finish the projects could raise that number even higher. Fairfax County, Virginia’s School Board is planning to scrap admissions tests at the elite Thomas Jefferson High School in favor of a “merit lottery” system meant to admit more “diverse” students. FAIRFAX, Va. - Virginia’s largest school system has been hacked and the attackers are seeking a ransom payment to keep them from disclosing stolen personal information. WRC-TV in Washington reports that the internet hacking group Maze posted some of the data stolen from Fairfax County Public Schools, including student disciplinary records and grades, to prove its hack was successful. The school system confirmed the hack and said it is investigating and working with law enforcement. Unrelated, the school system reported it experienced technical difficulties Friday as students completed the first week of online schooling.

Police are hunting for a gunman following a shooting incident in Virginia when a police car was hit three times with gunfire. The incident occurred at approximately 7:25 p.m. in Suffolk, Virginia, when a marked police car was driving through the area and was hit three times with bullets.
