A chaotic night Tuesday in downtown Minneapolis included fights, injuries and arrests. Police say it all began with a large group of teens who used mass transit to travel downtown with the intention of causing trouble. The group of young people fought amongst themselves and blocked traffic near Nicollet Mall amid St. Patrick's Day celebrations. View raw Chopper 5 video of the scene here. The disturbance was widespread and included the areas between 3rd and 8th streets, and Marquette and Hennepin avenues. Additional police officers were called in to restore order. They arrested as many as six people, and used...

"D’oh – The Uplands Park “City Manager” Isn’t Actually a “City Manager”, and The Real Uplands Park Officials Are A little Upset…." A fellow named John Muhammad identified himself as city manager of the tiny north county village of Uplands Park during a live interview Thursday night on FOX News channel. Mr. Muhammad then went on a bizarre diatribe to say he, and his community, believed the KKK or the police themselves were the shooters. Beyond the jaw dropping protestations about the police shooting another slight problem is Mr. Muhammad is not a “city manager”. Actually, not even close. First,...

Sunday on Fox News Channel’s “America’s News HQ,” Lt. Governor Peter Kinder (R-MO) said Attorney General Eric Holder “on many occasions” seemed to “be inciting the mob.” Kinder said, “He is sounding the right notes today, this afternoon. I just wish he had been more judicious and measured in his comments since the August 9. Because Mr. Holder came in and seemed on many occasions to be inciting the mob. He seemed to be putting his weight on the one side of the scales of justice and not backing up law enforcement. And if he is now, you know, backing...

Graphic cell phone footage has emerged of brutal attack on a school girl that took place in Brooklyn after class on Monday afternoon. The three minute clip shows an unfair fight that begins with a small girl in a light blue hoodie being set upon by at least four other students. As the girl is mercilessly pummelled by the gang her blonde hair extensions are ripped from her head as she is repeatedly punched and kicked.

According to an 86-page report issued by the Department of Justice, six of the most credible witnesses to the shooting of Michael Brown were afraid to give testimony in support of Ferguson, MO, police officer Darren Wilson, because they knew it would undercut the “Hands up, don’t shoot” narrative being advanced by their neighbors and, eventually, by the media. Several expressed concern for their safety should they choose to contradict that narrative publicly. As one witness noted, there were signs in the neighborhood reading “snitches get stitches.” The fear experienced by witnesses to the incident is a constant refrain in...

Government was "misrepresenting RCMP firearms statistics by overstating the number of firearms involved in violent crimes." By using an over-inclusive definition, Statistics Canada has exaggerated the number of violent crimes that involve guns. The result is that gun violence appears to be four times more frequent than it really is. In 2013 (the most recent year statistics are available) Statistics Canada reports that there were 5,027 “firearms-related” incidents out of 263,054 violent crimes (i.e., 2% of violent crimes). Clearly, gun violence isn’t prevalent. But even that small share exaggerates the frequency that a gun was actually used to commit a...

Editor’s note: This is a post by my (imaginary) guest author, the Very Honorable Ima Librul, Senator from the great State of Confusion Utopia. He is a founding member of CCCEB (Climate Change Causes Everything Bad), a charter member of President Obama’s Go For it Team, a senior member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee and Chairman of the Meretricious Relations Subcommittee. Senator Librul is also justly proud of his expertise in interfaith dialogue, on the basis of which he has explained to the entire world that Islam is the religion of peace, grossly distorted by the non-Islamic Islamic State and other textual deviants. He was recently awarded...

From April of 1992 until December of 1995 the nation of Bosnia and Herzegovina was wracked by a vicious war and brutality not witnessed on the European continent since the atrocities of Nazi Germany during World War II. The Bosnian War was primarily a war over territory between Serbian forces on one side and the ethnic Muslim Bosniaks on the other side. The Croats were also interested in gaining parts of Bosnia and Herzegovina as part of a Greater Croatia. The battles between the Serbs, Croats and the Bosniaks resulted in brutality that reached a new level with bitter fighting...

Responding to a mall-wide brawl in December and a triple shooting in a Macy's department store Saturday night, officials at Monroeville Mall say teens visiting on weekend nights soon will need to be accompanied by an adult. Monroeville Mayor Gregory Erosenko said he will reopen a police substation inside the mall that had been closed for a couple of years. “We aren't going to tolerate this at all,” Erosenko said. But District Attorney Stephen A. Zappala said officials have long known trouble was on the way. A consultant hired by the District Attorney's Office urged mall officials to upgrade security...

COLUMBUS, Ohio - A central Ohio pro-life group is seeking restitution after a man damaged its signs at a demonstration. The attack on the signs happened Wednesday afternoon outside Beechcroft High School as school was letting out for the day. A group called Created Equal was staging a demonstration with signs displaying graphic images of aborted fetuses. The group members were on the sidewalk in front of the school when a man who lives across the street approached them. “Get them off or I'll take them,” the man could be heard yelling on video shot by Created Equal. The video...

It seems like so long ago when Barack Hussein Obama and his ilk in Washington and the media labored tirelessly to convince us that if only Americans would elect him, their problems with the Islamic world would soon enough be relegated to the dustbin of history. This notion, of course, was of a piece with a larger vision, a worldview according to which Islamic murderers are, essentially, the products of injustices perpetrated by the West generally and America specifically. Well, Obama was elected—twice, in fact. And whatever else may be said of relations between the American and Islamic worlds, no...

I would not watch the video of Jordanian pilot Mouath al-Kasaesbeh being consumed by fire, because to do so was exactly what the Islamist barbarians who produced it wanted. They wanted not only to kill their captive in the most horrific way imaginable, but also to burn the images of his immolation into the minds of those who oppose them. Terror is their most effective weapon. The only way they can achieve victory is by frightening people into submission. Scare off those who would join an alliance to fight the Islamic State, and ISIS wins. But barbarity also has a...

Radical abortion supporters are calling for a Ferguson type revolution against pro-lifers in an odd place, outside a rally organized by Black preachers in California. The event was organized by Rev. Walter Hoye, a Black pro-life minister , and took place Friday in Oakland. An page on Hoye’s website about the rally reads, “We walk because abortion in the Black community is a form of genocide, it is the Darfur of America. We walk because abortion in Black America is the civil rights issue of our day. We walk because abortion does violence, both physically and emotionally, to men and...

French police arrested a man on Sunday evening after he deliberately mowed down a dozen pedestrians in the eastern city of Dijon, badly injuring two of them and shouting "Allahu Akbar" ("God is the greatest"), authorities said. The previous day, French police in central France shot dead a man who stabbed and wounded three officers in a police station while shouting those same Arabic words.

When they tell you it's not Islam you know they have lost their political compass. They are losing their countries out of sheer willful blindness and their inability to face the truth and deal with it. French President Hollande said the murderous Paris terror attacks were “an insult to Islam.” His Prime Minister, Manuel Valls, said, “We are at war with terrorism and radical Islam.” Days later he said France was at war with “terrorism, jihadism and radicalism.” Then, in the same speech he said, “France is not at war against Islam and Muslims,” before announcing a series of measures...
