Decades ago, we expected total victory against the Germans and the Japanese. We demanded it, for we knew what anything less would bring to our homeland--and yes, it was our homeland, regardless of our place of birth. We were united, together in the absolute, unshakeable belief that freedom was worth blood, even our own lives. Many years later, the American Left called for the defeat and humiliation of our military, even going so far as to support the barbaric hordes of Islam in their quest to destroy America. The college-age hippies of 1969 were now parents and grandparents, with families...

February 28, 2007 -- How many times have you sat in front of the TV over the last four years, watching anti-war activists march on Washington, chase the ROTC off your local college campus, vandalize war memorials, insult the troops and wreak havoc under the surrender banner? How many times have you thought to yourself: What can I do? Here is the answer: Get off the sofa and join the Gathering of Eagles on March 17 in Washington, D.C. (SNIP) Last time the left-wing, peace-loving fun bunch came to town, their minions gone wild threw rocks at a military recruitment...

This Gathering of Eagles will come to be known as the "Woodstock" of Patriotism. Dear America: I have seen Vietnam Veterans and their family's gather at Rolling Thunder by the Hundreds of thousands, At Melbourne, Florida for the kickoff of the year's Vietnam Veteran reunions. At a thousand small towns in between both coasts for a day of festivities and unabashed patriotism ... At Kokomo Indiana for the last, all Veteran's reunion of the year. I have ridden coast to coast and found literally thousands of Vet groups all working independently of each other, but all working towards a common...

I haven’t spoken at an anti-war rally in 34 years, because I’ve been afraid that because of the lies that have, and continue to be spread about me and that war, that they would be used to hurt this new anti-war movement. But silence is no longer an option. I’m so sad that we still have to do this, that we did not learn the lessons from the Vietnam War- Jane Fonda, last monthAnti-war movements don't stop wars. Peace protests do not end suffering. They enable even more violence to take place. Nor are such movements popular with the American...

To burn our Flag, speak out against the war, protest against our Military…all validates my 31 years of service in the Corps…though unsavory as your actions and that I am in total disagreement with your far left liberal views, I did fight to protect those rights that you are now exercising. But I also believe that your left wing agenda has weakened our Nation and our Military and I pray that your actions on March 17th accomplish little as I dread having the war on terrorism become another pullout and political failure as in Vietnam. I will stand tall with...

Actress Jane Fonda -- high-profile Academy-Award winning film star and demonized antiwar activist -- nearly missed her appearance in Naples for a Planned Parenthood of Collier County fund raiser. She overslept, she admitted to CEO Char Wendel, who called to remind her TV interviewers were waiting in the lobby of the Naples Beach Hotel and Golf Club at 5 p.m. Fonda was in Naples to talk about one of her least visible leading roles: as founder of G-CAPP, the Georgia Campaign for Adolescent Pregnancy Prevention.

Disgracing the memories of American heroes ------------------------------------------------------------------Posted: February 23, 2007 1:00 a.m. Eastern The most unseemly members of the anti-war contingent have showed us their colors by dishonoring and disgracing war memorials all across the continent. On Saturday, March 17, anti-war activists plan a giant march in protest of Operation Iraqi Freedom by gathering near the Vietnam Wall, and many veterans groups fear that the anti-American, anti-military ranks of ANSWER (who are organizing the anti-war event) might repeat their offensive behavior again. You can understand why veterans groups are so nervous when you look at the recent rash of vandalism...

Veterans plan to protect the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington during an anti-war protest next month. They fear demonstrators may deface the memorial, even though organizers say they have absolutely no intention of doing that. Two veterans groups say they're concerned because some anti-war protesters spray-painted graffiti on the steps of the U.S. Capitol in January. The black granite walls of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial bear the names of all those who were killed during the Vietnam conflict. The head of the veterans group known as rolling thunder says his members plan to protect the memorial and, quote, "support our...

By Cindy Sheehan Karl Rove and his manipulative, behind the scenes machinations continue even though he had to resign in disgrace from BushCo. About 30 members of the Legion started organizing for the trip shortly after they got wind of a large anti-war demonstration planned for March 17. It wasn't the anti-war message that got their backs up so much as it was the location that activists picked to start a march to the Pentagon - the Vietnam Veterans Memorial - and what happened during an anti-war rally held Jan. 27. On that day, a small group of over-exuberant protesters spray-painted slogans on the Capitol steps. The veterans fear a repeat performance that could damage the memorial, something they say they will not...

The purpose of this thread will be to pool our resources and ideas to counter the attempted take-over of our nation’s capital and foreign policy. WASHINGTON -- Some veterans are up in arms over plans by anti-Iraq-war demonstrators to assemble next month at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial. Billed as a protest marking the fourth anniversary of the Iraq war's start and the 40th anniversary of a pivotal march on the Pentagon against the Vietnam War, the March 17 event will commence near the memorial and end at the Pentagon. Organizers expect an enormous turnout. The Military Order of the Purple Heart, Rolling Thunder and other veterans groups are promising to form a protective ring around the Wall, which they consider "hallowed" ground. Purple Heart national...

FALFURRIAS — The Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C., is a lasting tribute to the men and women who fought a battle on distant shores. The memorial is a place where people go to think, to deal with the tragedies encountered while doing their military duty, or to wait patiently for a loved one or friend to come home from battle. It is a solemn place. There are no neon lights or automated statues — just a site tucked among green grass and memorials. Some people are not able to experience the memorial in person, so the Moving Wall goes...
