My "Aha Moment" happened because of a package of hamburger meat. I asked my husband to stop by the store to pick up a few things for dinner, and when he got home, he plopped the bag on the counter. I started pulling things out of the bag, and realized he'd gotten the 70/30 hamburger meat - which means it's 70% lean and 30% fat. Meanwhile, Merry Christmas, America, from the all-year-round, no-goodwill, most anti-American president in all of history This time last year, the Obamas were figuratively thumbing their noses at out-of-work, winter-bound masses via multiple stories about their upcoming sixth-in-a-row, lavish Christmas holiday in Hawaii. This year, only one story about the annual Christmas trek to Kailua can be found in the mainstream media or on the entire internet. So far, not a peep about presidential Christmas holidays 2014 on WhiteHouse.gov. “President Barack Obama plans to return to Hawaii again this year for his annual Christmas vacation, and he and his family will...

Phones on desks, linens on beds, catalog cards spilling out of the filing cabinets—all covered with a fine patina of dust. Neglected for years, and abandoned in seconds, it’s like a modern-day Pompeii in which the earth suddenly reclaimed its souls as they went about their daily business. But this isn’t fodder for the next Dean Koontz thriller; it’s real, and its 100 miles north of New York City. Sullivan County once boasted 538 hotels and over 50,000 bungalows, but today practically nothing remains of this illustrious, vacationing era, save crumbling towers and abandoned estates. Walking through the haunting wreckage—thirsty...

Sunday on NBC´s "Meet The Press," host Chuck Todd took President Barack Obama to task for the optics of going golfing moments after his statement on ISIS beheading journalist James Foley. Obama complained during his vacations he would "love" not to be followed by the press. “You know, it is always a challenge when you’re supposed to be on vacation, because you’re followed everywhere, part of what I would love is a vacation from the press," Obama said. The president did take some responsibility saying, “But there’s no doubt that after having talked to the families, where it was hard...

President Obama Checks Stonehenge Off His Bucket List By Ann Compton Sep 5, 2014 After a grueling week of foreign policy crises that must have often seemed like trying to push boulders up a mountain, President Obama took a surprise detour on the way home. Marine One flew him halfway across England so he could walk amid the mysterious and awe-inspiring boulders of Stonehenge. “Spectacular” he kept saying. The president walked alone amid the towering slabs at sunset, humbled. “How cool is this?” he asked.

Complete Headline: Feeling rested? Smiling president returns to the White House after relaxing in Martha's Vineyard amid ISIS and Ferguson crises President Barack Obama's summer vacation off the Massachusetts coast has come to an end. The president returned to the White House late Sunday after spending two weeks with his family on the island of Martha's Vineyard. What a break it turned out to be. His attempt at rest and relaxation was largely overtaken by events involving Islamic State militants in Iraq and Syria, including the videotaped execution of an American journalist they had been holding hostage, and the unrest...

President Obama boarded a plane back to Washington late Sunday after a two-week trip to Martha's Vineyard plagued by criticism from Republicans and some Democrats. Republicans continuously criticized Obama during the trip for vacationing while events unfolded in Iraq and Ferguson, Mo. The trip will likely be remembered most by critics for Obama’s nine rounds of golf. However, he also held conversations with nine foreign leaders and delivered four statements to the press, according to The Associated Press, which kept a tally of everything that went on during the 14-day break. Obama spoke at a Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee fundraiser...

On another gorgeous Martha’s Vineyard summer day, President Obama, Michelle and daughter Malia behaved like any other vacationing family — the difference being a train of SUVs, reporters and Secret Service agents — and went for a bike ride in the Manuel F. Correllus State Forest. President Obama departed his vacation home in Chilmark at 11:18 am for West Tisbury, according to pool press reports. The motorcade arrived at a bike path in West Tisbury at 11:38 am and the Obamas and their security contingent pedaled away. The traveling press pool traveled by van a few miles to a scenic...

President Barack Obama really wanted to take a vacation. But then the world intervened. The president’s plan to snag two weeks off in Martha’s Vineyard has been an utter failure, marking his worst attempt at relaxation since the Detroit underwear bomber consumed his 2009 Christmas holiday in Hawaii. On the eve of his departure late last week, Obama authorized airstrikes in Iraq to beat back Islamist militants from committing genocide. Then as he wrapped up his first round of golf on the Massachusetts island Saturday night, The Atlantic interview with Hillary Clinton hit the Web, sparking days of speculation about...
