Alabama's governor has signed the nation's toughest new immigration law in a major crackdown on 'illegals'. The new law affects education, housing and employment. It requires public schools to document students' immigration status and even makes it a crime to knowingly give an illegal immigrant a ride. The bill also means police can arrest anyone suspected of being an illegal immigrant if they're stopped for any other reason. Alabama employers also are now required to use a federal system called E-Verify to determine if new workers are in the country legally. Gov. Robert Bentley said the law is America's toughest....

The former treasurer of the Masjid Al Iman mosque has been charged with producing child pornography. Jameel Abdull Raashib, 55, of Lauderhill, pleaded not guilty to the federal felony charge. He was arrested April 14 and is in Broward County Jail awaiting a jury trial in July. A landscaper and auto detailer, Raashib is also charged as an undocumented resident in possession of ammunition and counterfeit registration papers. If convicted, he faces up to 30 years' imprisonment and $750,000 in fines.

A white Ford pickup with Arizona plates is driving north on U.S. 191 headed for the Utah border. Afraid of encountering police, the family inside is traveling at night.
