"The View" co-host Sunny Hostin said it was the young White House aide and not CNN reporter Jim Acosta who committed battery when attempting to remove a microphone from Acosta’s hand at a press conference on Wednesday. Acosta got into a heated exchange with President Trump, who told Acosta to sit down and refused to take further questions from the reporter. A White House aide, later identified as an intern, then tried to remove the microphone from Acosta, who resisted and asked a follow-up question. As the intern tried to grab the mic, Acosta said, "pardon me, ma'am" and continued...

White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders has been accused of sharing a "doctored" video of CNN correspondent Jim Acosta’s interaction with a White House intern that resulted in the reporter’s press pass being revoked. Acosta's press pass to access the White House was suspended "until further notice" Wednesday, hours after he engaged in a contentious back-and-forth with President Trump. A White House intern attempted to retrieve the microphone from Acosta, but the CNN reporter resisted and asked an additional question – and that’s where things get cloudy. Sanders said the suspension of his press credentials stemmed from his "placing his...

There are few things the MAGA crowd loves more than a black Republican. The meteoric rise of Candace Owens and the embrace of Kanye West, despite his Hollywood A-list status, are symptomatic of a group desperate to prove it isn’t racist. Over the past few months, the conservative sections of social media have become fixated on the #WalkAway campaign, urging Democrats and minorities to take off their blinders and join the Republican party. Late last month, it seemed that the Republican party had added a black college student named Quran to its ranks. She tweeted, “I will not hide any...

President Trump on Wednesday admonished CNN reporter Jim Acosta for “rude” behavior and ordered him to sit down during a heated exchange at the White House. At a press conference, Mr. Acosta repeatedly asked the president about his tough stance against a U.S.-bound migrant caravan was “demonizing” immigrants. He then refused to give up the microphone. “You are a rude, terrible person. You shouldn’t be working for CNN,” Mr. Trump told Mr. Acosta. “The way you treat Sarah Huckabee [Sanders] is horrible. And the way you treat other people is horrible. You shouldn’t treat people that way.”

Liberal Hollywood actor Jim Carrey and GOP Texas Senator Ted Cruz engaged in a contentious back-and-forth on Twitter Monday, just hours before voters in the state head to polling stations to help determine Cruz’s fate in the Senate. Cruz is holding a slight lead in his race against Democratic Rep. Beto O’Rourke in the Lone Star State, according to the recent polls. So Carrey, a vocal liberal who recently urged Americans to ‘stop apologizing’ and ‘say yes to socialism,' got into the fray by tweeting his support for the Democrat. “Go Beto! Go Democrats! Vote like there’s no tomorrow,” the...

An association of mosques in The Netherlands has demanded Twitter take down Geert Wilders’ account, threatening legal action if the social media giant does not comply. The Turkish-Islamic Cultural Federation (TICF), which represents 144 Turkish mosques in The Netherlands and is connected to the Diyanet, the Turkish directorate for religious affairs, has claimed that Wilders’ criticisms of Islam are in breach of the company’s terms of services, reportsAlgemeen Dagblad. TICF’s lawyer Ejder Köse told the Dutch daily that the group also intends to file complaints against Twitter in Turkey, Morocco, Pakistan, and Indonesia — four Islamic countries where blasphemy is a punishable offence.

I don't think people are ready for the crisis that will follow if Democrats win the House popular vote but not the majority. After Kavanaugh, Trump, Garland, Citizens United, Bush v. Gore, etc, the party is on the edge of losing faith in the system (and reasonably so).

One thing the American Right has forgotten through their bromides in favor of hyper individualism and the meandering status quo-ism is that humans are inherently collective beings. Now while things like land collectivization and seizing the means of production are terrible as public policies, humans do yearn to connect with others under the banner of a shared, common culture, language, background, and history. Families, tribes, churches, fraternities, and other voluntary organic collectives are an integral and necessary part of the human experience. One such collective, I argue, is more important than all of those. It is the nation. Without...

FULL TITLE: Cesar Sayoc Was Reported for Threatening Behavior, But Twitter Apparently ‘Didn’t Find it That Serious’ Rochelle Ritchie, a former spokeswoman for the U.S. Congress and the Baltimore State’s Attorney’s Office, said Friday that she recently reported accused bomb suspect Cesar Sayoc of threatening her on Twitter. The company’s “bs response”: No violation was found. The now-suspended account @hardrock2016 has been linked to Sayoc, who allegedly mailed bombs to critics of President Donald Trump. “Though we are still analyzing the devices in our laboratory, these are not hoax devices,” FBI Director Christopher Wray said in a press conference Friday...

My newest definition of irony is this: Getting angry to the point where I decided to start my own social network, on a whim, and then being slapped with a suspension hours later by Facebook. It’s a true story. Last Saturday I finally had enough and decided to do something. You might say I was pissed off about being pissed on by social media.

More like the cease and desist order is coming. HBO on Friday distanced itself from a Game of Thrones-themed tweet issued earlier in the day by President Trump, telling TVLine in a statement: “We were not aware of this messaging and would prefer our trademark not be misappropriated for political purposes.” Trump’s GoT-esque “ad” — which appropriated the prestige drama’s “Winter is Coming” tagline, superimposed over a stern-looking image of himself — was seemingly intended as a warning shot to Iran. Early Friday, Trump administration officials announced the imminent reimposition of sanctions on the country. Game of Thrones cast member...

Twitter allowed Cesar Sayoc, the man who allegedly sent apparent bombs to public figures around the country this month, to post more than 240 threats towards 50 different people on its social network without sanction. Meanwhile, the media managed to temporarily force free speech social network Gab offline after it was revealed that the Tree of Life Pittsburgh Synagogue shooting suspect had an account on the platform. According to CNN, an analysis discovered that “Sayoc tweeted more than 240 threats directed to at least 50 public officials, news organizations and media personalities.” “The threats, and Twitter’s apparent inaction regarding them,...

The Evening Campaign Update (Because The Campaign Never Ends) One of my Twitter followers sent me a private message today asking “how can you vote for some of these Republicans?” Seriously? You have to ask me that? My answer was very simple: “Because they aren’t Democrats.” That was several hours ago, and I haven’t heard back from this person. Frankly, I expect she will un-follow me by the end of the day. Why would I ever vote for another Democrat? It’s a serious question. This is a political party that has over the last three years done everything it can...
