The other day I blogged about NARAL’s obnoxious tweet, “Being pro-choice *is* fundamentally about *parenting!” It followed news that their president, Ilyse Hogue, announced that she was pregnant with twins, and they are now trying to prove that women who support the right to kill a child in the womb are also “good parents.” To do this they have created the hashtag #ProchoiceParents. They even posted this pic of abortionist Pratima Gupta – pregnant: PICTURE ON LINK Along with a tumblr page where Maureen Shaw writes, “Motherhood strengthens my prochoice resolve!” Not to be outdone by Planned Parenthood ex-employee, Jen...

We heard the news about Hillary's fake Twitter and Facebook followers and her operatives pretending to be her regular supporters. Is it possible that it also is happening right here on Free Republic Web site? Free Republic is a premier Conservative site. Most of us know who, among the presidential candidates, is the most Conservative. Our candidate happens to be effective in his campaigning also. Our enemies know that and fear him the most. Naturally, Free Republic is turning into a battleground. We don't know who they are: other Republican campaign operatives, GOPe, Hillary's camp, Democratic operatives, union thugs, Castro...

Twitter Reacts to How a NAACP Leader Bamboozled, Hoodwinked and Led People Astray About Her Race#RachelDolezal is the most talked-about story on Twitter today, prompting funny and thoughtful responses from blacks, whites, liberals and conservatives about race and identity. The devil is a lie. Rachel Dolezal, a part-time college professor of Africana studies, got a tan and a perm to curl her naturally straight blond hair, married a black man, allegedly took her adopted black brother under her wing as her own child, and has seemingly been passing as black for years. If liberals had to endure what conservatives do on campus, or off of it, they would be screaming “witch hunt” so loudly you would think that we were all back in Salem. Susan Dench, founder and president of the Informed Women’s Network, was named by the governor to the University of Maine’s board of regents. “I have the perfect background,” she told the audience at the Independent Women’s Forum (IWF) “Women Lead” summit meeting on June 4, 2015. “I have a background in business and they are in financial difficulty.” But first she had to get past the state assembly....

On Tuesday, Dennis L.A. White, an actor known for portraying Damion 'D-Roc' Butler in the biopic "Notorious," issued a tweet suggesting violence against the daughters of Eric Casebolt, the former McKinney, Texas, police officer whose actions at a pool party incident sparked protests. The tweet has since been taken down, but not before being captured for posterity. Jim Hoft of the Gateway Pundit was one of those who captured White's message before it was removed. "What if we found eric casebolt's (sic) family & beat up the young girls in it," he tweeted. "Would that b fair? If u live...

Around 8:30 a.m. on Sept. 11 last year, Duval Arthur, director of the Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness for St. Mary Parish, Louisiana, got a call from a resident who had just received a disturbing text message. “Toxic fume hazard warning in this area until 1:30 PM,” the message read. “Take Shelter. Check Local Media and columbiachemical.com.” St. Mary Parish is home to many processing plants for chemicals and natural gas, and keeping track of dangerous accidents at those plants is Arthur’s job. But he hadn’t heard of any chemical release that morning. In fact, he hadn’t even...

The video made me cry because it showed me how black children are not allowed to play. How they’re not allowed to just be (expletive deleted) kids. How their play becomes criminalized and how they’re socialized to become black adults who internalize that their very breathing selves are criminal.

Josh Fox, creator of the “Gasland” films, has been playing up on Twitter that he got kicked off the Fox Business show Varney & Co. after a heated debate with the show’s host on the EPA’s hydraulic fracturing report. Fox and his supporters claimed he was kicked off the Fox show for schooling its host Stuart Varney in a fracking debate. Fox claims Varney kicked him off the show after being “confronted with the truth on fracking.” But Fox’s claim of being kicked off Fox Business for beating them down with facts is very far from the truth. The Daily...

The host of a Texas pool party that led to the suspension of a police officer says things took a turn for the violent when a neighbor began hurling racial slurs and insults at party-goers. A woman identified as Tatiana Rhodes, 19, said that she and some friends had organized and were enjoying the party at the Craig Ranch North Community Pool on June 5 when the conflict with a white neighbor broke out. “This lady was saying racial slurs to some friends that came to the cookout. She was saying such things as ‘black effer’ and ‘that’s why you...

One resident, Benet Embry, a black man, posted on Facebook about the events leading up to the police call. “Look, I LIVE in this community and this ENTIRE incident is NOT racial at all,” Embry wrote. “A few THUGS spoiled a COMMUNITY event by fighting, jumping over fences into a PRIVATE pool, harassing and damaging property. Not EVERYTHING is about RACE. WE have other issues that NEED our attention other flights of made up make believe causes.” In another post he is critical of media coverage of the incident. “I’ve never seen such irresponsible reporting and miss management of media...

Feminists on social media have started a campaign called "give your money to women," or "Giveyourmoneytowomen" on Twitter. The point of the campaign is that, according to its creators, men benefit from numerous privileges, including the patriarchy and earning more money than females. For that reason, men should literally give money to women for no other reason than that they are female. Here are just some of the tweets being bandied about on social media:

The Department of Justice is concentrating on “far-right” groups in a new study of social media usage aimed at combatting violent extremism. The Justice Department’s National Institute of Justice (NIJ) awarded Michigan State University $585,719 for the study, which was praised by Eric Holder, the former attorney general, earlier this year. “There is currently limited knowledge of the role of technology and computer mediated communications (CMCs), such as Facebook and Twitter, in the dissemination of messages that promote extremist agendas and radicalize individuals to violence,” according to the NIJ grant. “The proposed study will address this gap through a series...

One tactic Soviet-bloc countries would use to stifle dissidents was involuntary confinement to mental institutions. After all, you have to be crazy to oppose state ideology, right? Now, though, 26 years after the Berlin Wall’s fall comes a similar shocking story — from well west of where the wall stood. It is alleged that a French mayor has been involuntarily confined to a mental asylum for “Islamophobia.” The story involves Robert Chardon, mayor of the southern French town of Venelles; the problems began when, participating in a public Twitter discussion initiated by former French president Nicolas Sarkozy, the mayor proposed...

On Saturday, Chuck C. Johnson invited his Twitter followers to send some money his way so that he could focus on his latest project: “taking out” the civil rights activist DeRay Mckesson. Johnson is a 26-year-old California man who has been described as “Twitter’s most infamous right-wing troll” (Mother Jones), a “digital Darth Vader” (Politico), “your least favorite person” (the Washington Post), and “mood slime” (the New York Times). He is best known for outing the subject at the center of the discredited Rolling Stone UVA story, publishing the home addresses of New York Times Ferguson reporters Julie Bosman and...

President Barack Obama on Thursday went over the heads of the traditional press corps and took questions on Twitter for a half hour using his new account @POTUS. The 140 character limit did not seem like a constraint to the notoriously long-winded president. Although set up to discuss climate change after a tour of the National Hurricane Center in Miami, Obama addressed a variety of different subjects, including the upcoming NBA Finals. The president responded to someone who said he was more worried about his student loans than climate change.
