  • 'Ben-Hur' Faces Epic $120M Loss as Summer's Biggest Box-Office Bust

Ben-Hur? More like Ben-Horrendous. The ancient tale directed by Timur Bekmambetov is officially the biggest bust of summer 2016 and is on track to lose an epic $120 million or more, according to sources close to the film and multiple box-office analysts consulted by The Hollywood Reporter. The Paramount/MGM release has grossed just $54.1 million to date at the global box office since its mid-August debut, including a dismal $25 million domestically. While it has several major foreign markets yet to open, the film is fading fast and will have a hard time getting past $75 million globally, say knowledgeable...

From morning into the late afternoon, all the "anchors" and all the "message" from FOX News cable is nothing but a non-stop attack on Trump, misrepresentation of Trump, lies from Hillary talking points from Trump, guests who are only there to attack Trump, only the negative polls but never the positive polls about Trump, and it is clear as a gun site what these POS's are, they are nothing but the disgusting creeps and losers of the Jeb Bush wing of the Republican establishment that really has one agenda and that is the globalist cheap labor agenda and open borders...

The conspiracy theory, which is being recirculated thanks to a Reddit thread, claims that Sandy, played by Olivia Newton-John, was actually dead, or dying, throughout the entirety of the 1978 movie. The user, who first posted the theory three years ago, cites the lyrics to the film’s opening number, “Summer Nights,” which says that when Danny (John Travolta) and Sandy first met, he “saved her life, she nearly drowned” — and argues that Sandy actually died on the beach that day. Another Redditor took things even darker, claiming that Danny was also dead the whole time and made up the...

When you think of Disney movies, you think of safe, wholesome fun for the entire family. But based on this list, maybe instead you should think about sad orphans and the literal embodiment of death appearing in a man's eyes shortly before he meets his grisly demise. Here are some of the most controversial moments hidden in Disney movies...

Just hours after it was announced that Fox News would be paying $20million to settle a sexual harassment lawsuit with Gretchen Carlson, the former network anchor hired a major celebrity publicist to craft her second career. Carlson has hired Cindi Berger of PMK*BNC to handle all aspects of her personal public relations, according to the Hollywood Reporter. The company told HR that the next phase in Carlson's career will 'include a television presence, penning a book, speaking engagements and philanthropy'. Berger has previously represented Lena Dunham, Barbara Walters, Robert Redford and Rosie O'Donnell.

Hugh O’Brian, who shot to fame as Sheriff Wyatt Earp in what was hailed as television’s first adult Western, has died. He was 91. A representative from HOBY, a philanthropic organization O’Brian founded, says he died at home Monday morning in Beverly Hills. Until “The Life and Legend of Wyatt Earp” debuted in September 1955, most TV Westerns — “The Lone Ranger,” “Hopalong Cassidy,” the singing cowboys’ series — were aimed at adolescent boys. “Wyatt Earp,” on the other hand, was based on a real-life Western hero, and some of its stories were authentic. (The real Earp, who lived from...

Director: Mel Gibson; Starring: Andrew Garfield, Teresa Palmer, Vince Vaughn, Sam Worthington, Hugo Weaving, Rachel Griffiths. Cert tbc, 131 mins. What could have possibly attracted Mel Gibson to the story of Desmond Doss, a man whose unconventional religious beliefs made him a pariah among his peers, but who, once the system had learned to grudgingly accommodate him, worked wonders and saved souls through sheer force of conviction? Desmond was a committed Seventh Day Adventist and pacifist who served as a US Army medic at Okinawa, saving 75 lives without ever lifting a weapon – and the curiously ideal subject for...

  • Which has better movies--Netflix or Amazon Prime?

I am considering getting Amazon Prime and canceling Netflix. I currently have the Netflix where I get mailed physical DVDs. There is lag time and it's a pain in the behind to have to go find a mailbox to ship them back. I have found that while Netflix has a large quantity of movies in their selection, the quality is not there. I'd say that only about 15-20% of their movies seem worth watching, not being dirty or stupid. How would you compare the selection of Netflix movies to those of Amazon Prime?

The programme starred actor Patrick McGoohan playing the part of Number Six who is held captive in a mysterious village where the residents are known only by a number.

Mel Gibson has made a move about a pacifist who served nobly during WWII. It's a testament to his filmmaking chops, and also an act of atonement that may succeed in bringing Gibson back. Mel Gibson’s “Hacksaw Ridge,” which premiered today at the 73rd International Venice Film Festival, is a brutally effective, bristlingly idiosyncratic combat saga — the true story of a man of peace caught up in the inferno of World War II. It’s the first movie Gibson has directed since “Apocalypto,” 10 years ago (a film he’d already shot before the scandals that engulfed him), and this November,...
