An Internet radio host and blogger charged earlier this month with encouraging people to "take up arms" against three public officials in Connecticut was arrested again Wednesday on charges that he threatened to assault and murder three federal judges in retaliation for a ruling upholding handgun bans in the Chicago area. FBI agents charged Hal Turner, 47, of North Bergen, N.J., at his home on charges related to the appeals court judges. The federal charges in Chicago arise from Internet postings on June 2 and 3 in which Turner allegedly proclaimed his "outrage" over a June 2 decision by Chief...

Nuclear Terror: North Korea's threats have escalated to new levels in recent days. Ordinarily, this might not be a big concern. But it's an unstable regime with nuclear weapons, so we have to be ready to act — and fast.President Obama doesn't seemed too concerned about the North Korean threat, saying the U.S. has "dotted the I's and crossed the T's" on a potential response to the country's increasingly hysteric provocations. On Wednesday, for example, it threatened to "wipe out" the U.S. "once and for all." It sounds laughable, since North Korea's military doesn't match up too well with ours....

SNIPPET: "Today the world faces a wide array of cyber threats. The majority of these threats are aimed at the Western democracies and the Western-leaning countries of other regions. The reason for this is simple: They are ripe targets. These countries are either highly dependent, almost completely in some cases, on cyber means for nearly every significant societal interaction or are racing toward that goal. They seek the speed, accuracy, efficiency, and ease that a "wired" system of systems brings and all the benefits that accrue to such a situation. The danger we face is that there are many individuals,...

I live in Maine, and our Democrat controlled legislature and governor's office, against the will of the people, in their wisdom recently passed gay marriage. A "People's Veto" drive immediately started to get the gay marriage issue on the ballot, where it will almost certainly be overturned, even in the liberal mecca of Maine. 55,000 petition signatures of registered voters need to be collected in order to get the issue on the ballot, no small feat in a rural state like Maine. Well, I am hearing stories that when petitioners set up in front of a business, with their permission,...

NorthKorea SEOUL, June 9 (Yonhap) -- North Korea urged its people Tuesday to be armed with willpower against the United States and warned not to depend on allied nations, as the country faces new international sanctions for its recent nuclear test. The full-page editorial by the Rodong Sinmun, the North's main newspaper published by the Workers Party of Korea, apparently pointed to China, which has rebuked the May 25 nuclear explosion and is now working on a punitive resolution with the U.N. Security Council. "We will win when we fight the (U.S.) imperialists to the end, and there will be...

BERLIN (Reuters) - Al Qaeda is planning a major attack on Germans before September's election to wreak revenge for the deployment of troops in Afghanistan, a German magazine cited security officials as saying on Saturday. Der Spiegel said German intelligence officials and the Federal Crime Office believed German firms based in Algeria and German citizens in northern Africa were in particular danger. The officials also warned of attacks in Germany. The new assessment is largely due to a warning from the U.S. government, believed to be based on information from al Qaeda in the Afghanistan-Pakistan border region, said the weekly.

The President Of La Raza Says Party Will Pay Price For An Uncivil Debate Over The High Court When President Obama announced Sonia Sotomayor as his pick for the Supreme Court, the pundits warned Republicans of a trap -- attacking the first Hispanic nominee for the court could backfire, they said. That didn't stop former presidential candidate Tom Tancredo from going on cable news to decry Sotomayor's involvement with the National Council of La Raza, which he called a racist organization. Sotomayor herself was called a racist by Rush Limbaugh and then Newt Gingrich, who later withdrew his statement. NationalJournal.com's...

Knowledge is inextricably linked to language. The less accurate words are, the less accurate the knowledge they impart; conversely, the more precise the language, the more precise the knowledge. In the war on terror, to acquire accurate knowledge — which is pivotal to victory — we need to begin with accurate language. Would the free world have understood the Nazi threat if, instead of calling them what they called themselves, “Nazis,” it had opted to simply call them “extremists” — a word wholly overlooking the racist, expansionary, and supremacist elements that are part and parcel of the word “Nazi”? Unfortunately,...

"We are sending out a message to the most important personality in the Christian world - Pope Benedict XVI," read the message. "If...

WASHINGTON, May 1, 2009 – The al-Qaida terrorist network and its affiliate members continue to pose the greatest danger to the United States and its allies, a senior U.S. State Department official said here yesterday. Ronald Schlicher, acting coordinator for the State Department’s counterterrorism directorate, shared with reporters at a news conference some highlights of his agency’s just-released reports that examine events in 2008. The annual compilation of terrorist activity gathered from around the world, Schlicher said, provides “a very good idea of the challenges we face in the counterterrorism field, of the progress we’ve made, and of the...

Carrie Prejean, whose now famous answer on homosexual unions cost her the Miss USA crown, apparently has the power to inspire murderous fantasies from the powerful. Something very odd is afoot in the culture (and not just American culture), when an opinion shared by a majority of voters in most states inspires worldwide rage. The following comes from a senior Tory MP: Mr Duncan, who had earlier in the show revealed his ambition to become Home Secretary, was discussing American Beauty Queen Carrie Prejean's belief that same sex marriages were wrong. And the MP called her a "silly b***h" and...

A new report produced by a branch of the Virginia State Police portrays the state's colleges and universities as potential breeding grounds for terrorism. The 200-page report, intended for distribution to law enforcement, intelligence and military organizations, says "a wide variety of terror or extremist groups" have links to Hampton Roads and singles out the area's two historically black universities for special mention. It also cites the region's "diverse population due to the strong military presence." In addition, it mentions Regent University, an evangelical Christian school in Virginia Beach, and a Chesapeake-based anti-abortion group. The report acknowledges that none of...

THE world has rabies and our swooning media de liver headlines about the new Obama family dog. Yeah, the puppy's cute. But must journalists be lapdogs? The week kicked off with gushing media declarations that President Obama had "passed his first test" in a foreign "crisis." Three pirates held an American hostage far too long. It was an embarrassment, not a crisis. Our president was reluctant to authorize deadly force. Against pirates, for God's sake. Then, 24 hours after the Obama White House declared "Mission Accomplished," Somali pirates attacked another US-flagged ship. This time, the pirates used rocket-propelled grenades and...

Death threats to executives at American International Group Inc. because of the bonuses they received are one more sign of the utter degeneration of politics in our time. Rep.
