Dawkins: Islam is ‘one of the great evils in the world’ February 9, 2011Acharya S/D.M. Murdock470 Comments Richard Dawkins (Photo: Cstreet/Christopher G. Street, Bransgore, Dorset, England, UK)Richard Dawkins says it outright. One wonders why so few other atheists are speaking out in the same way. Note that he does not hasten to qualify his comment by saying, “Islamic extremism” or “radical Islam.” Dawkins: “I’m reasonably optimistic in America and Europe. I’m pessimistic about the Islamic world. I regard Islam as one of the great evils in the world, and I fear that we have a very difficult struggle there.” Narrator:...

If you want to annoy ISIS terrorists, just blow a horn or play a musical instrument. Muhammad, the prophet of Islam said so: ï„ Â“Anas narrated that the prophet said, “Two sounds are accursed in this world and the hereafter: (the sound of) musical instruments in time of happiness and wailing during calamity.” (Al-Bazzaar). And if you think I am kidding, just take a look how the Kurds annoy ISIS during a fire fight: ... Its the proven method, sort of like pig fat. It is all written in their books and hundreds of millions of these bigots hate the...

U.S. military forces have discovered a smuggling ring moving copious quantities of explosives and weapons from Iraq to terrorist training camps constructed by the Saddam Hussein regime inside Syria prior to Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF). The Pentagon also announced that the structure bombed by U.S. warplanes last week, described by many major media outlets as a wedding celebration at a private ranching operation, was actually a "dormitory-like" facility used as a "safe house" to facilitate the clandestine movement of foreign terrorists into Iraq from Syria. According to Pentagon officials, small arms, explosives, and bomb making materials are being removed from...

HEADQUARTERS MARINE CORPS, WASHINGTON — The Marine Security Force left the American embassy in Yemen for the movement to the airfield as part of the "ordered departure" with only personal weapons. All crew served weapons were destroyed at the embassy prior to movement. None of them were 'handed over' in any way to anyone. The destruction of weapons at the embassy and the airport was carried out in accordance with an approved destruction plan. Upon arrival at the airfield, all personal weapons were rendered inoperable in accordance with advance planning. Specifically, each bolt was removed from its weapons body and...

U.S. Embassy Marines in Yemen handed over their M-9 pistols and M-4 carbines before evacuating the chaotic country with diplomatic personnel, the Pentagon said Wednesday. The Marines also left behind several vehicles at the airport in the capital city of Sanaa before departing on a civilian flight, said Army Col. Steve Warren, a Pentagon spokesman.

You will recall last year’s congressionally sponsored “National Prayer Breakfast” when remarks by Dr. Benjamin Carson launched his career as a potential presidential nominee. As controversial as Dr. Carson’s comments were said to have been, this year the President seems to have outdone the good Doctor by creating a firestorm of reaction to his comparison of today’s Islamic terrorism to early Christianity. Mr. Obama began his remarks with “Giving all praise and honor to God, it is wonderful to be back with you here.” OK. Insincere, but OK. No mention of ISIS, even though he spoke of the atrocities of...

President Obama purposefully sidesteps calling Islamic terrorism by name in order to coddle Muslims Standing before a National Prayer Breakfast gathering, President Obama traveled the pitted road of selective memory in his address, choosing to focus on 1000-year-old misdeeds committed under the authority of the Holy Roman Church, a political entity. Unable to bring himself to identify the current perpetrators of horrific atrocities inflicted on anyone who crosses their path, Obama doesn’t just condone the ISIS actions, but by refusing to speak about their religious affiliation, admits his sympathies for the Islamist murderers. Without hesitation, the president readily accuses Christians...

Newly-minted US Senator Tom Cotton -- a combat veteran and Harvard Law alum -- dismantled the Obama administration's talking points on closing the Guantanamo Bay terrorist detention facility during an Armed Services Committee hearing yesterday. He posed a series of question to the Deputy Under Secretary of Defense, the answers to which were strategically obvious: Tom Cotton: Guantanamo Bay Prisoners 'Can Rot in Hell' In furtherance of the president's unpopular, unauthorized obsession with shuttering the prison, the White House argues that transferring and releasing GITMO occupants not only doesn't threaten American national security, it actually enhances it. Because they, argue, the center is...

This clip has made the rounds over the last few days -- which is simultaneously understandable and slightly confusing. I'll explain in a moment, but here's the exchange that's garnered significant attention:

Thanks to Obama, our enemies have been emboldened, our allies confused. He's an idiot who lacks any grasp of history’s lessons. He's a coward who cannot be expected to seriously respond You know something is terribly wrong when three former Secretaries of State, Henry Kissinger, George Schultz and Madeleine Albright tell a Senate Armed Services Committee that the President of the United States is an idiot with no idea how to conduct foreign affairs. Well, they didn’t say it in those words, but that was pretty much the message. That was January 29. Two days earlier retired 4-Star General James...

,li>U.S. Seen in Middle East as Ally of Terrorists Many Egyptians and moderate Arabs and Muslims were shocked to hear that the U.S. State Department recently hosted a Muslim Brotherhood delegation. They were equally shocked when an EU court decided to remove Hamas from the bloc's list of terror groups. "Just two days after the controversial visit, the Brotherhood called for a war against their fellow Egyptians." — Linda S. Heard, Middle East Expert, Gulf News. "The Muslim Brotherhood is seeking to return to the political arena through the American door and terrorist attacks. The U.S. policy appears to be...

In the latest of many fringe benefits extended to the world’s most dangerous terrorists the Obama administration is allowing Guantanamo Bay prisoners—including a senior Al Qaeda operative—to speak with family via video chats similar to Skype. The captives are “high-value” detainees locked up in a special top-security wing of the military compound at the U.S. Naval base in southeast Cuba. Two of the terrorists recently had video conferences with family for the first time since their incarceration, according to a Spanish news agency that identifies them as Abu Faraj al Libi and Abd al Rahim al Nashiri. Al Libi was...

As we know, one of President Obama’s campaign pledges, along with a re-distribution of wealth and the “skyrocketing” of energy costs, was the closing of the Terrorist Detention and Recreation facility at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. Many schemes were proposed; moving the POWs to a stateside facility, having them tried in US courts instead of the appropriate military tribunals, etc. etc. But in an amazing show of courage, Congress would not go along and an Executive Order seemed a bit over the top, even for this president, so Guantanamo remains operational. What to do? If the facility couldn’t be closed, at...

Libyan officials were deeply concerned in 2011, as Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton was trying to remove Moammar Gadhafi from power, that weapons were being funneled to NATO-backed rebels with ties to al Qaeda, fearing that well-armed insurgents could create a safe haven for terrorists .. The reports included a 16-page list of weapons . ... the Qataris, they are doing this with every country, with every country,” Mr. Gadhafi said. “This is their plan, I mean in public. This is their own agenda. I mean, it’s not something hidden, ... A lot of jihadists that had been locked...

President Obama has again refused to call the battle with terrorism in the Middle East a war against radical Islam. In his latest interview, the Commander-in-Chief agrees certain factions have perverted the religion having embraced a 'nihilistic, violent, almost medieval interpretation of Islam' But he insists that such labels hurt efforts to root out radical ideologies in Muslim communities which have been tainted by groups such as ISIS and Al Qaeda.

Except for Buenos Aires and the Upper East Side of New York, my corner of Washington, D.C. has the highest ratio of psychiatrists and psychologists per neurasthenic in the world. We also have the country’s most successful independent bookstore, where the shrinks, lawyers and political geniuses that populate our neighborhood hawk their books to each other. And me. Well, I’m always on the lookout for new cookbooks to add to the collection, which is taking over all four floors of our house. Having been mesmerized by the Food Section review of Elizabeth Warren’s latest, Sioux Sous Vide in this week’s...

CAIRO: The reasons for a meeting between former Freedom and Justice Party members and U.S. State Department officials are “not understandable,” said Foreign Minister Sameh Shokry in Addis Ababa Saturday. U.S. State Department spokesperson Jen Psaki said Thursday in the daily briefing that a delegation of “former FJP members” organized by Georgetown University, adding it was “ routine at the State Department as they meet political party leaders from across the world,” and that the group did not discuss the ouster of former president Mohamed Morsi. Shokry told Egyptian media Saturday that any kind of communication with group affiliated in...

The State Department hosted a delegation of Muslim Brotherhood-aligned leaders this week for a meeting about their ongoing efforts to oppose the current government of President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi of Egypt, who rose to power following the overthrow of Mohamed Morsi, an ally of the Brotherhood, in 2013. One member of the delegation, a Brotherhood-aligned judge in Egypt, posed for a picture while at Foggy Bottom in which he held up the Islamic group’s notorious four-finger Rabia symbol, according to his Facebook page. That delegation member, Waleed Sharaby, is a secretary-general of the Egyptian Revolutionary Council and a spokesman for...

They act like terrorists, they regularly kill civilians like terrorists, but the White House does not consider the Afghan Taliban to be a terrorist group. “They do carry out tactics that are akin to terrorism. They do pursue terror attacks in an effort to try to advance their agenda,” White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest explained today, but “they have a different classification.”
