Political commentator Scott Jennings said Sunday on CNN’s “State of the Union” that former President Donald Trump is an “&-+$#@$” for asking where his competitor, Republican presidential candidate former Gov. Nikki Haley’s (R-SC) husband was when he was serving overseas in the U.S. military. At a campaign rally, Trump said, “Where’s her husband? Oh, he’s away. He’s away. What happened to her husband? what happened to her husband? Where is he? He’s gone.”

I am curious, perhaps concerned to know what if any oath the "officers" employed by DHS (Homeland Security) swear. I can readily read what our military enlisted and officer corps recite when they swear in. I can also read the same for the President. But to WHAT or WHOM do the 'officers' of DHS owe their loyalty and duty?

Supreme Court Justice John Paul Stevens, the oldest and longest-serving justice on the Court, will swear in Joseph Biden as Vice-President on Jan. 20, a source close to the inaugural planners has confirmed to Legal Times. Stevens, 88, was named to the Court in 1975 by President Gerald Ford. It is rare for a vice president to be sworn in by an associate justice appointed by a president of the opposite party, so this choice can be seen as a bipartisan gesture -- though Stevens is usually regarded as one of the most liberal justices on the Court.

Oh Say, Can You Swear on a Koran? What’s correct. By Eugene Volokh The U.S. Constitution is a multiculturalist document. Not in all senses, of course: It tries to forge a common national culture as well as tolerating other cultures. But it is indeed multiculturalist in important ways. We shouldn’t forget that when we’re tempted to categorically condemn supposedly multiculturalist changes to our constitutional practices. Consider what Dennis Prager — - whose work I often much like — wrote in his most recent column: Keith Ellison, D-Minn., the first Muslim elected to the United States Congress, has announced that he...

DERRY, N.H. -- Moments after praising his opponents in the Democratic presidential race as worthy running mates, Wesley Clark said, in no uncertain terms, how he would respond if they or anyone else criticized his patriotism or military record. "I'll beat the s--- out of them," Clark told a questioner as he walked through the crowd after a town hall meeting Saturday. "I hope that's not on television," he added. It was, live, on C-SPAN. The campaign's traveling press secretary, Jamal Simmons, was with Clark at the time. "If anyone tries to question Wes Clark's character, integrity or his commitment...

As I was jogging through lovely Baltimore City today in my W'04 campaign t-shirt, I had an interesting experience. Now, I understand that this is a liberal town, but I was surprised when a large, mustached woman leaned out the window of her toyota camry and yelled "F--- you, Bush sucks!" As she drove off, I could see her car had been plastered with bumper stickers, mostly advertising "Peace." I saw a Attack Iraq? NO! sticker, along with a "War is not the Answer" one. There was also a sticker for some organization (FLRC?--couldn't make it out. . .) Since...
