Oakland police investigators have identified a 23-year-old man who is wanted in connection with the fatal shooting of an ice cream vendor inside his truck. Police said Wednesday that they believe Joevan Lopez was responsible for shooting 45-year-old Jasvir Singh at Peach Street and 93rd Avenue about 4:30 p.m. Saturday.

Thai police say a man they arrested over a deadly bombing at Bangkok's Erawan shrine is indeed the bomber, contradicting earlier statements. A police spokesman said the man - earlier named as Adem Karadag - was the figure in a yellow shirt seen on CCTV leaving a bag at the shrine. Thai police had earlier said neither of two men in their custody were the main suspects for the 17 August attack. The motive for the bombing, which killed 20 people, remains unclear.

The man suspected of a killing a Texas county sheriff’s deputy has reportedly been arrested at the end of a successful SWAT scene. Fox affiliate KRIV reports Harris County Sheriff’s Office deputies captured the suspect in the murder of Deputy Darren Goforth early Saturday. The man was taken into custody at Pine Falls and Sunny Ridge in northwest Harris County, according to the station. Thai police have arrested a young man in connection with the Erawan shrine bombing. He reportedly holds a Turkish passport. According to the report, Thai police raided an apartment on Soi Chueam Samphan 11 in Bangkok's Nong Chok district about two o'clock this afternoon, arresting its occupant. The reports also say bomb-making equipment was found, including ball-bearings very similar to those used in the Erawan shrine bombing. One of the suspects in the Paris attack on Charlie Hebdo magazine has been killed and the two others are in custody, a two senior U.S. counterterrorism officials told NBC News. On Friday morning, police in Moore, Oklahoma released the identity of the suspect in the brutal beheading of a woman at her workplace: Nolen, who now goes by Jah'Keem Yisrael, is a convert to Islam, and local press reports that he had attempted to convert other employees at Vaughan Foods, where the murder took place. SAN FRANCISCO -- A suspect wanted in connection with the killing of a German tourist near Union Square in 2010 has been arrested, authorities said Friday. Devante Laws, 21, was spotted in Hayward on Thursday and taken into custody by members of a task force led by the U.S. Marshals Service. ABERDEEN, MD (WJZ/CNN) – Police in Maryland arrested a suspect who allegedly tried to carjack the mother of baseball Hall of Famer Cal Ripken, Jr. The incident occurred on Tuesday outside of a bank in Aberdeen, MD, north of Baltimore. Police say a man with a handgun approached 75-year-old Violet Ripken and demanded her car. Ripken pressed the panic button her key ring, setting off the car's alarm and scaring the man away. A suspect has been identified in the shooting rampage that left four people dead and one gravely injured Friday in various locations around Santa Monica, California and culminated on Santa Monica College Campus.
