BANGOR, Maine — City police have arrested a 34-year-old woman in connection with two stabbings at the Bangor Mall on Tuesday that sent two people to the hospital, Detective Sgt. David Bushey said Tuesday evening. Elizabeth Ellis, whom police describe as a transient, was charged with two counts of aggravated assault, Class B felonies that carry a penalty of up to 10 years in prison and a fine of up to $20,000.

BROCKTON, Mass. - Authorities have identified a teenager stabbed to death during a basketball court melee in Brockton and say an arrest warrant has been issued for the suspect. Plymouth District Attorney Timothy Cruz says 18-year-old Ywron Martins of Brockton died at a hospital Wednesday night after being stabbed earlier in the evening at the James Edgar Playground. HANCOCK COUNTY -- A family gathering to celebrate a child's birthday turned deadly Sunday when a fight between two brothers-in-law led to a fatal stabbing, officials said. Hancock County Sheriff's Investigator Glenn Grannan said that at 12:30 a.m., deputies found Kenneth Fanning, 29, suffering from multiple stab wounds in the front yard of a rental home on the 5000 block of U.S. 90. The suspect, Clinten Michael Dryer Sr., 32, injured his knee during the fight, Grannan said. DORCHESTER, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) -- A woman was held without bail Tuesday in connection to the stabbing death of a Dorchester mom. Takisa Matthews, 30, was held without bail at her arraignment Tuesday afternoon. She was charged with the murder of 26-year-old Maria Sanchez, who was stabbed to death at an altercation outside a house party in October of 2014. Matthews was also charged with armed assault with the intent to murder for stabbing another woman, who survived.
