Chris “Mad Dog” Russo conveyed his surprise to me after hearing former broadcast partner Mike Francesa finally express interest in a reunion that would shake up both terrestrial and satellite radio. “That’s the first time I’ve ever heard him say it. He’s been put on the spot like that a long time. I brought it up at the Super Bowl. But that’s the first time I’ve heard Mike say that,” Russo said.

April 22 (Reuters) - The International Tennis Federation (ITF) has launched an investigation into Romania's Fed Cup captain Ilie Nastase after the former world number one allegedly made a derogatory comment about Serena Williams' unborn child. At the Fed Cup draw in Constanta on Friday, Nastase, 70, was heard speaking in Romanian to one of his team members about Williams' baby. "Let's see what color it has. Chocolate with milk?" he was quoted as saying. Williams, who confirmed her pregnancy through a spokeswoman on Wednesday, is engaged to Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian, who is white. The ITF confirmed on Saturday...

A college football star who is slated to be chosen at next week's NFL Draft has been charged with beating a woman unconscious. Caleb Brantley, a defensive lineman who attended the University of Florida, faces a misdemeanor battery charge, according to a police report obtained by Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network. Police in Gainesville, Florida, say that Brantley hit his alleged victim, 20-year-old Chelsea Austin, in the face and that 'use of force was clearly out of retaliation and not self-defense.' Brantley, 22, told police that Austin hit him in the face first. Austin confirmed to police that she...

Kentucky may have produced its first none-and-done. Heralded shooting guard Hamidou Diallo announced on Twitter on Sunday evening that he is declaring for the NBA draft without ever playing a game for the Wildcats. The 6-foot-5 wing is not hiring an agent, so he’ll have until May 24 to withdraw from the draft and return to school if he chooses.

Still suffering with chronic pain after multiple back surgeries nearly two years ago, Warriors coach Steve Kerr will step away from his duties for an indefinite period. Kerr made the announcement Sunday afternoon, one day after he was unable to attend Game 3 of the first-round playoff series against the Trail Blazers at Moda Center. Assistant coach Mike Brown, a three-time NBA head coach who guided the Warriors to a 119-113 comeback win in Game 3, will serve as acting head coach during Kerr’s absence and will be on the sideline for Game 4 Monday night. Kerr spent Game 3...

San Francisco announced Bumgarner's injury Friday, a day after the accident occurred during an off day in Colorado. The Giants said Bumgarner is out of the hospital and resting at the team hotel. He is scheduled to be re-evaluated next week. "I think the main thing is you have to be grateful he's not hurt worse than...

This week’s edition of Time Magazine named former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick to its list of the 100 Most Influential People. The list breaks down the chosen 100 into five categories: Pioneers, Artists, Leaders, Titans, and Icons. Kaepernick appears in the Icons group. In the Time Magazine profile, former SF 49ers Coach Jim Harbaugh praised the controversial quarterback’s protest last year of the Star Spangled Banner, “when he boldly and courageously confronted perceived inequalities in our social-justice system by refusing to stand for the national anthem.” Harbaugh made no mention of Kaepernick’s penchant for wearing socks denigrating law...

When Calgary Flames defenseman Dennis Wideman was slapped with a 20-game suspension for his January 2016 collision with NHL linesman Don Henderson, he received the second harshest penalty ever issued by the league for contact with an official. But if Henderson gets his way, Wideman and the Flames could be coughing up even more. Something to the tune of $10.25 million, to be exact. According to reports from TSN and CTV News, as well as relaying of the information from Sporting News, Henderson filed a lawsuit against Wideman and the Flames on April 18, seeking general damages of $200,000, special...

Thursday, ESPN “First Take” co-host Max Kellerman weighed in on the New England Patriots’ visit to the White House in celebration of their Super Bowl victory over the Atlanta Falcons. In a long-winded rant, Kellerman said Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski walking into press secretary Sean Spicer’s press briefing Wednesday normalizes Spicer’s behavior, adding that this proves that the Patriots should have completely boycotted visiting the White House.

If these spy shots are any indication, then the Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 will be very loud. A prototype was just caught testing on the Nürburgring Nordschleife, and engineers had to rig up some extra piping on the exhaust to muffle its growl. Many race tracks have noise ordinances in place that restrict how loud you can be at certain times. According to our shooter, the day this prototype was caught there was a 100-decibel limit in effect. The ZR1 apparently couldn’t meet that, as extra piping was added to the tailpipes – a trick used by racers to reduce noise...

Now that Aaron Hernandez may have his conviction posthumously vacated — under an obscure Massachusetts legal doctrine — the Patriots could owe him money, a lawyer said Thursday. The Pats may actually be contractually obligated to pay Hernandez’s estate a $3.5 million bonus that was stopped hours after his murder arrest in 2013, attorney William Kennedy told the CBS affiliate in Boston. Kennedy represents the families of Safiro Furtado and Daniel de Abreu. Hernandez was acquitted in their shooting murders last week — only to commit suicide Wednesday in the Massachusetts prison cell where he was serving life without parole...

More details are emerging regarding the death of former Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez, and they’re troubling. Via WBZ-TV, the phrase “John 3:16” was written on Hernandez’s forehead, and red marker was on his hands and feet. “John 3:16” is a popular Biblical verse, the 16th verse of the third chapter of the Gospel According to John: “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”

Aaron Hernandez’s murder conviction is expected to be dismissed posthumously because of a legal rule called “abatement.” That would mean, legally speaking, Aaron Hernandez died an innocent man. Hernandez hanged himself in his prison cell and was found dead early Wednesday morning, the Massachusetts Department of Correction said. Hernandez had been serving a sentence of life in prison without parole after being convicted of the June 2013 murder of Odin Lloyd.

46-year-old Rory McLeod just pulled off one of the great upsets in Crucible history when he knocked off world #4 and tournament favorite Judd Trump in the first round of the World Snooker Championship. Mcleod, who converted to Islam in 2000, refused to shake the female referee's hand at the start and end of his match. Snooker has a host of traditions and is very big on sportsmanship but the politically correct announcers completely ignored McLeod's slight.
