We woke up in a different country today. Alright, it doesn’t look very different. The trees still seem black against the winter sun; the motorways continue to jam inexplicably; commuters carry on avoiding eye contact. But Britain is no longer a sovereign nation. At midnight last night, we ceased to be an independent state, bound by international treaties to other independent states, and became instead a subordinate unit within a European state.

Have you ever had an argument with someone at school? Maybe it started between the two of you at lunch or in the schoolyard. At first, you yelled at each other. Later, you may have pushed and shoved each other. Your friends thought you were right and took your side. Other students took the other side. Suddenly, schoolmates became enemies and a simple disagreement turned into a major conflict.

I’ve been getting positive feedback from my audio interview with Oklahoma State Senator Randy Brodgon. You can hear that on mp3 by clicking through here. With the increasing footprint or some would say Grip of federal governance, there has come an increase in the assumption of powers not granted. Attending these powers not granted is a attitude of self-protection against the will and authority of the electorate to object. Disparaging remarks of those as extremist is fooling fewer and fewer constituents who are now expressing interest in a very intriguing movement, state secession in order to get out from under...

Last Monday began the PBS Series, "WE SHALL REMAIN" with their first Episode "After The Mayflower". The ones that will get my attention begin next week, Monday April 20th, 2009, and especially the April 27th "Trail of Tears" episode which will feature "The Ridge", the Cherokee leader and his clan who I wrote about in "Jesus Wept" An American Story. It will be VERY interesting to see how PBS deals with this situation or if they will be overtaken with the usual political correctness and historical rumor. My story is taken from documented records as well as family letters saved...

Arizona is awash in federal money. In fiscal year (FY) 2007, Arizona received close to $8.5 billion in federal funds. This money funds programs that most Arizonans are familiar with, such as Medicaid and the No Child Left Behind Act (NCLB). Even though the inflow of federal dollars appears attractive, there is a catch: As federal dollars flow in, state dollars are fixed to ever-growing demands connected to these programs. In 2000, the State of Arizona used general funds at close to $463 million for Medicaid alone. By 2005, that figure had risen to $914 million, and it is projected...

January 10, 2008 ESV Acts 8:26 ¶ Now an angel of the Lord said to Philip, "Rise and go toward the south to the road that goes down from Jerusalem to Gaza." This is a desert place. I had a divine appointment to start off the day today. I got up early and went down to drink coffee and this lady walks through the lobby. I have seen her the past few days but had not spoke to her. I said hello to her and we begin to talk. She asked me what I was doing in Lima and I...

Thirty-four Senate Republicans is all that is keeping the United Nation’s “Law of the Sea Treaty” from being ratified and delivering a potential death blow to our nation’s sovereignty, security and prosperity! Rejected by Ronald Reagan nearly 25 year ago, the treaty remains an albatross that is now only a breath away from an unnecessary law that would place the U.S. under the governing authority to an unaccountable international body—the UN! After receiving great pressure from the White House the Senate Foreign Relations Committee approved the treaty by a margin of (17-4) on October 31, leading to speculation that a...

Federal regulators have voted to impose severe restrictions on salmon fishing off the coasts of Oregon and Northern California to protect dwindling populations in the Klamath River. The Pacific Fishery Management Council decided to close about 700 miles of coastline to commercial salmon fishing for most of June and July. Those are generally the most productive months of the season.

The Nature of Fallen Humanity This chapter explores whether the Wesleyan concept of prevenient grace can be supported from the Scriptures. Before examining this question, I want to emphasize that there is a significant area of common ground between Wesleyans and Calvinists. The disagreements that we have in some areas can cause us to overlook the extent to which we agree on major doctrines. In one arena of theology, namely, anthropology, the harmony between Wesleyans and Calvinists is of the utmost importance and our harmony in this area should be celebrated. Both camps acknowledge that fallen human beings are born...

LONDON (Reuters) - Saddam Hussein's defense lawyers will argue that he has immunity from prosecution at his trial in Iraq later this month, according to a London-based member of his legal team. Lawyer Abdel Haq Alani told the BBC the former president will challenge the legality of the special tribunal, due to open inside Baghdad's fortified Green Zone on October 19. "He had full immunity under the prevailing Iraqi constitution and you cannot have a retroactive legislation that removes that immunity," Alani said in an interview with the BBC's "Newsnight" program late on Thursday. Iraqi officials say the only charge...

COUNTDOWN TO ATTACK ON IRAN & SYRIA 27 days left before war with Iran Are we going to stand idly by as more sovereign countries are attacked? This farce has nothing to do with getting rid of nuclear weapons in the Middle East or else the US would shut down the billions of dollars of aid that Israel receives. Money that is funneled into its massive chemical, biological and nuclear arsenal, which is turning Israel into a dominant superpower. Their military & political might remains unchecked. They are in firm control of the world’s remaining superpower, the United States, and...

Secretary of State Colin Powell stepped in it once again – this time instructing the Taiwanese that their goal in life should be “reunification” with a murderous, police state. For nearly four years, Powell has been the weak link in Bush’s foreign policy. Of all the administration’s top officials, he was the last to come on board in support of military intervention in Iraq. Powell perfectly reflects the State Department mindset. In almost any situation, he favors appeasement over confrontation -- sacrificing U.S. allies (Israel, Taiwan) to win brownie points with thugs (Arab regimes, the People’s Republic of China). But...

A United Nations report that says elections in Iraq can take place late this year or early in 2005 if preparations begin now is helpful, the Coalition Provisional Authority administrator said Feb. 23. In a statement issued from his Baghdad, Iraq, headquarters, Ambassador L. Paul Bremer III called the report "a constructive contribution to our mutual goal of transferring to the Iraqi people a sovereign, democratic Iraq." Bremer said the coalition shares the U.N. view that direct elections as soon as possible are important and U.N. concerns about the feasibility of elections before sovereignty transfers from the CPA to the...

An idea whose time has come .... From posts 9 and 14 in the thread at http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/755902/posts? Post 9 ... The term "sovereign nation" should never apply to dictatorships. Post 14 ... Those who speak of the sovereignty of dictatorships are flunkies of the dictators themselves, buying into the idea that kings or Secretaries General are the sovereigns. The people are the only sovereign. Where the people are powerless, there is no basis for sovereignty.

Contentment Ironic isn’t it? We live in the country that is the most prosperous in human history yet at the same time our country is filled with people struggling to find contentment. No doubt the media has a vested interest in stirring our need to have more and improved “things.” Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous thrived in the TV ratings race for years by tempting us with images of people who have amassed wealth and fame. And in doing so they taught us that contentment comes through acquisitions and accomplishments. We bought it. Unfortunately, if the truth were known,...

[Fcalerts-list] What Does Individual Right Mean? Neal Knox Alerts List nealknox@nealknox.com Sat May 11 17:02:02 2002 May 11 Neal Knox Update -- It's been amusing watching the reactions of both sides -- but particularly the anti-gun crowd -- to Solicitor General Ted Olson's official statement that the Department of Justice considers the Second Amendment to protect an individual right. The position was laid out in footnotes of briefs asking the Supreme Court NOT to consider two Second Amendment-based cases. One was Dr. Tim Emerson's appeal of the 5th Circuit's decision that he had to stand trial for possessing firearms while...
