The scowling faces of Democrats during President Trump’s SOTU speech on Tuesday night told Americans everything they need to know about the Democratic leadership of this country. Items that any rational person should cheer went unacknowledged by most Democrat politicians. Or rather, they were acknowledged, with aforementioned scowling faces and the distinct lack of even golf club applause. This is what we in public relations call “bad optics”. It is instructive to examine not only why the Democrats’ behavior is so awful, but how the President’s policies and the speech itself set them up for failure. The American economy has...

I can’t understand why Senator Joe Manchin of West Virginia remains a Democrat. Ideologically, he is far closer to Mitch McConnell or even Ted Cruz than he is to the Schumer-Pelosi Democrats.  His constituents in the Mountaineer State (“Mountaineer†is the polite word for “Hillbillyâ€) gave President Trump overwhelming support in 2016, and remain loyal to him.  When it doesn’t matter to the outcome, he can break with the Dems to support the GOP in Senate votes. But when push comes to shove, he is a Party Man. During the State of the Union Address, he visibly surrendered to...

The Fox News Channel was the big winner in the live television coverage of President Trump’s first State of the Union address on Tuesday – adding weight to its claim of being the most popular source for television news in the U.S. Twelve channels – five on them on broadcast TV networks and the rest on cable – ran the speech. Fox News beat all of them by a very wide margin. When the final audience numbers came in, Fox News had the highest ratings in the history of cable television for a broadcast speech. Vice President Mike Pence,...

It is estimated that POTUS, DJT gathered 47.9 million "USA" viewers for his first SOTU speech on Tuesday evening. That number, by the way, does not include foreign country viewers across the world or the hundreds of live feeds, of C-Span, Right Side Broadcasting, etc. The true estimate number is calculated to be somewhere between 55-60 million viewers across the world and on "Live Screen". That is an enormous "successful" number, that does include those folks that listened to the SOTU on radio, etc., across the world. Now.....I have searched the entire internet to find the "massive numbers" (only kidding)...

Jeff Bezos’ blog, also known as the Washington Post, one of America’s most important newspapers which back in in the day was a bastion of investigative journalism, rewrote its State Of The Union headline following a massive backlash on social media from progressives/liberals or whatever you want to call the far left/social justice mob. The initial headline was tweeted by WaPo approximately one hour before the POTUS delivered his SOTU speech. The front-page headline reads: “|A call for bipartisanship”: https://twitter.com/washingtonpost/status/958554913486884864

Cochise County Sheriff Mark Dannels joined U.S. Rep. Martha McSally stand at the steps of the Capitol building in Washington, D.C., prior to Tuesday night’s State of the Union address by President Donald Trump. WASHINGTON, D.C. — It was exactly what the American people needed to hear, U.S. Rep. Martha McSally said Wednesday morning after President Donald Trump’s first State of the Union address. Traveling by train after a late night, McSally reflected on the speech she characterized as “positive, hopeful and optimistic.” She invited Cochise County Sheriff Mark Dannels to attend the event and noted his commitment to one...

If it wasn’t obvious before, it sure is now. Leftist politicians don’t just hate Trump. They hate America. And frankly, they don’t much care for you, either.

Pat Sajak : What a great prank! Somebody put glue on half of the seats at State of the Union Address!

Live at 10:00 p.m. Easter on BET, maybe picked up elsewhere? Maxine Waters’ provides her live rebuttal (24 hours later)to President Trump’s fantastic State of the Union (SOTU) speech given Tuesday, January 31, 2018. should be entertaining. Can she one-up Drooling Joey?

The lovely Andrea Mitchell: It's another base-pleasing moment and the fact checkers will be up all night, because on clean coal here we have a president in 2018 advertising the coal industry and not talking about the future. How that is appealing to anybody -- and also false claims on the auto industry, false claims on job creation, exaggerating that, one thing after another, and of course the grandiose claims about the tax bill, the individual is tax cuts are going to expire, the corporate ones stay forever.

Buckle Up!Late Tuesday, the President’s State of the Union address and Democratic response were completed around 11:00 p.m. Eastern, but MSNBC kept it going live until 2:00 a.m. Eastern on Wednesday. While it’s doubtful you stayed up to watch, you missed some mind-numbingly stupid quotes. Whether it’s suggesting Trump has committed treason or ghoulishly laughing about people fearing MS-13 gang violence, MSNBC’s Chris Matthews, Joy Reid, and Ron Reagan succeeded in stooping to the lowest of lows. So, here they are (presented in chronological order): 1. Matthews Questions Trump Honoring Families of MS-13 Victims

Often-misinformed MSNBC star Joy Reid is under the impression that international criminal gang MS-13 isn’t a major issue and the only people that have even heard of the thugs are regular viewers of Fox News. During Tuesday’s State of the Union address, President Trump kicked off the immigration portion of his speech by detailing the horror of two teenage girls who were killed by MS-13, an international crime gang comprised mainly of El Salvador immigrants, while their parents were in the building. “Two precious girls were brutally murdered while walking together in their hometown,” Trump said. “Four men associated with...

President Trump heeded the urgings of his putative friends and vociferous foes for a uniting speech to Congress. The nags got what they deserved: Trump’s statesmanlike analysis of the stasis, or gridlock, that infects Washington. The most successful partisanship is that which has the patina of nonpartisanship. Americans have always despised parties—understanding them to be, at best, a necessary evil. Which do you prefer: the stupid party or the evil one? President Trump’s first State of the Union address earns high marks for its successful partisan rhetoric—hurling his sullen Democratic opponents outside the political consensus on a host of issues....

Unlike the president, I don't call everything "incredible," but Trump's State of the Union address was incredible, beautifully delivered. (This guy could have a future in television!) As proof, I cite every single media outlet bitterly complaining after the speech that, as MSNBC's chyron put it: "TRUMP FAILS TO MENTION RUSSIA'S ELECTION MEDDLING IN STATE OF THE UNION." He did not address the elephant in the room! A lot of people don't like Trump, but no one was thinking that. It's only an elephant in your room, media. This is the very definition of solipsistic. What did they want him...

The stats don't lie. Within minutes of President Donald Trump's first State of the Union speech, CBS News revealed their YouGov poll approval ratings on it. Unsurprisingly, 97% of Republican speech watchers liked it. More surprisingly, 72% of Independents liked it. Staggeringly, 43% of Democrats liked it. Overall, CBS reported that 75% of Americans approved of the speech. For such a seriously divisive and polarising President, who is currently languishing with just 39% personal approval ratings, these were sensationally good results. Interestingly, 8/10 Americans in the poll felt the President was trying to unite the country with his speech and...

Former Washington Nationals outfielder Jayson Werth is one of the few free agents who isn’t worried about being unsigned right now. If things don’t work out in baseball, he can just focus on farming. No, for real. Werth is so serious about his organic farm that he was the guest of Illinois Congressman Rodney Davis at President Donald Trump’s State of the Union address Tuesday night. There’s a lot to unpack there. Yes, Jayson Werth is apparently somewhat interested in politics. Yes, he’s passionate about organic farming. Yes, he was even willing to wear a suit and tie and put...

RUSH: We looked it up. In Obama’s 2010 State of the Union, he used the pronoun “I” 105 times. Trump last night used the pronoun “I” 29 times, and the personal pronoun “we” even more than that. Obama said “I” 109 times, “I’m” 16 times, “my” 10 times, and “me” 11 times. So let’s add that up: 105 and 16 is 121, and 10 is 31, and 11 is… So 142 times Obama referred to himself in the 2010 State of the Union. Last night, Donald Trump referred to himself 29 times. They say Trump is a narcissist and they...

President Trump placed the emphasis on “we” over “I” in his first State of the Union address on Tuesday night. A review of the president’s prepared remarks by The Daily Caller reveals he used the word “we” more than four times as many times as he said the word “I.” President Trump used the word “I” 29 times in his speech, while using “we” 129 times. Another communal word used often by the president: “our,” which he used 104 times. “As long as we are proud of who we are, and what we are fighting for, there is nothing we...

Many members of the Congressional Black Caucus (CBC) refused to stand or applaud when President Donald Trump touted the historically low level of black unemployment during his first State of the Union address on Tuesday. Left-wing media, however, gleefully reported a camera shot that showed CBC members grimacing in their seats. “Unemployment claims have hit a 45-year low,” Trump said. “African-American unemployment stands at the lowest rate ever recorded, and Hispanic American unemployment has also reached the lowest levels in history.” Video of the African Kente cloth-clad CBC members sitting and staring unamused filled the internet with breakneck speed. While...

What would do without the Left to teach us the true meaning of compassion and humanity and love for our fellow man? During his State of the Union Address last night, Donald Trump took a few moment to recognize Ji Seong-ho, a brave man who had risked his life to escape the brutal North Korean regime. Many people couldn’t help but me moved by Ji’s incredible story: Indeed, it would take a heart of stone not to feel compassion and awe for what Ji went through. Evidently, Jeffrey St. Clair, progressive editor of the political journal “Counterpunch,” was born with...
