My wife dropped an entry in a box at a Tecate beer display in the local Kroger store, and to our surprise we won a trip to Vegas to see the Maywether-Marquez fight. The trip included airline tickets, fight tickets, two nights at MGM Grand (where the fight took place) and full access for the weekend to the Tecate hospitality suite (snacks, soft drinks, and (of course) Tecate beer, polo shirts, hats, gym bags, lanyards, and other merchandise.

We also received entry to the pre-fight party (GREAT hors d’oveures and open bar, celebrities, pretty girls dancing on tables and posing with folks like us for pictures) and the post-fight party, with more food, open bar, and a rock band to suppress conversation.

But enough of that. The fight was a boxing lesson, and Maywether delivered a new lesson every round. Marquez attacked - or tried to attack - every round, but he connected only once or twice the entire fight. Maywether defended himself well, slipped a lot of punches, picked his spots and countered very effectively.

Much - perhaps a majority - of the crowd was Mexican, and there was a LOT of (good-natured) ribbing between the Mexican and American attendees. Mexican and American flags were all over the place, and people were waving flags and yelling sll over the place during the preliminary fights. But we were sitting right in between some on each side, and they really were smiling and laughing about it all.

So we had a great time, and the price was certainly right!

I post almost every day....I am very passionate about other topics besides the "war" between men and women...:Oo

Hee hee no problems here....just the needle in the haystack search...and as the song goes...."loving the one I'm with if you can't find the one you love" in the meantime. I have always been speaking "as a rule" on these topics...but there are always exceptions to every rule. Even if I personally luck out and find that elusive exception ...it doesn't and won't change the way things generally are..:o)

People like her are called 911 abusers. I work with the developmentally disabled and have known a few of them over the years.

With a simple telephone call, you can get an ambulance, a fire truck, and the police running to your side. This is pretty heady stuff for a person who has mental problems.

One very hectic day I was short staffed. I had been out of the office and I returned to find all hell breaking loose. The secretary then informed me that the boss was being taken to the hospital with a heart attack.

As I ran around trying to put things in order, one of the clients asked if he could use the phone to call his mother. I allowed him to use an office to make the call. Fortunately I walked back into the office a few moments later. I was just in time to hear him say to the dispatcher, “I need a squad car.”

He’d had a tantrum just before the boss had his heart attack and felt it was his fault. He was calling the police to have them arrest him.

Naturally I took the phone from him, and apologized to the 911 operator. As I recall, I had to give her my name and what company that I worked for, then she canceled the call.

Another man, while out in the community, ran away from his staff person. He found the nearest pay phone and called 911, stating he needed to rape someone. You can imagine that the cops responded to that one in record time. The staff person had to talk to the police and convince then not to arrest him.

A dozen other stories spring to mind but I can’t fit them into this post.

Beavers have been known to carry away small dogs and force them to help build damns.

That’s a really big beaver.
